Watching Jerry Bailey\'s rides  on Lady Tak and Denon today at Belmont suggests to me that he\'s not what he used to be.  Poor judgement has burned a lot of money.

Pretty hard to judge Jerry B. off those two races.

Lady Tak coming off a lifetime top (-1) and a negative number to boot stretching out to a distance that represents the worst number on her sheet. (4 3/4).
At what odds???

Well, to paraphrase Lenny R.---\"the odds were crazy\".
Lady T visibly shortened stride and as Trevor D might have called, \"she could find no more.\"

As far as Denon goes, I have no excuse for the horse. Certainly looked the part on the sheets.
However, you must admit that, if you could forgive the off race, (and that is a big if) the 3 horse had a pair of #\'s around 3 and that did make him competitive from the inside post. Visually, when KM\'s horse accelarated, it was pretty impressive.

But none were more impressive than the smooth striding Mineshaft. Sired by Anthracite and the grand sire of Bituminous.
Strong dam side breeding being by Molly Maguire the daughter of Eckley Village owned by the estate of Richard Harris and trained by Sean Connery....lol....

Well, keep an eye on JB.....these are but two of a whole series of poor rides I\'ve seen.  BTW, with Lady Tak, the track announcer noted she was being ridden with \"supreme confidence\".  I think Jerry wrapped her up at the 8th pole and wasn\'t ready for the late challengers.

Steve Assmussen was none too happy with Bailey either.

May they all come home safely!

Gentlemen:

LADY TAK has distance limitations and DENON is the one who is slipping.

If Steve Asmussen is unhappy with Bailey, he could always go back to using one of the pin heads that rides on the Kentucky or Louisiana circuit.

Good Luck to all,
Joe B.

JB didn\'t look all that bad yesterday.

Tend to agree that many of RF\'s horses are going backwards at the moment.
Will probably be playing a bit against WW Bing\'s coastal oval thanks to the drug info posted.
On another matter,

Just how wide can horse carry another in the stretch to warrant a DQ?

I thought the #1 horse was going to take the #7 into the old Hendon Pool franchise across the street from the Belmont grandstand....lol.
Inquiring minds would like to know???

No position on the race. (that means had no bet down)

Stewards were already on the Southern State at the time of the infraction.
