I think he\'s right. Unless things are completely shaken up, there\'s no future for racing in America. This has been a long steady decline. Only thing he\'s wrong about is the guys didn\'t die off, they got out of the game b/c they couldn\'t make a living anymore. I knew a lot of \"professional\" gamblers years ago. They\'re all out of the game now. If they still play, they get the money to gamble from other sources. You can\'t beat these take outs, taxes, etc. -- no one can & they\'re only getting higher. There are models in other countries that might work, but we don\'t have the innovative leaders here --  unless you want to elect Jerry that is! Similar to the small business climate in America, racing has been starved to death by greed, corruption, and mismanagement. In good times you can sometimes get away with it, but when the economy crashes, all the flaws are revealed. The entrepreneurial spirit and good honest capitalism are things of the past, not only in racing but in America as well. I always felt there was no outside enemy that could ever defeat us but internally we crumbled, destroyed ourselves. I\'ve moved beyond racing now, I guess. Anyhow. . .
