Time to become "just a fan" for a day

I doubt there will be much value playing the Belmont anyway but I think I may just sit back and become a cheerleader for a horse that might just \"catch the imagination of the country.\"

A gelding owned by a group of regular guys (most of them anyway) who actually rode down to the Derby on a school bus.

A horse that, if we are lucky, we can be cheering for (and betting against) for years to come.

A horse that they may be able to make a movie about some day...

Thanks to Funny Cide\'s run at the Triple Crown, \"buzzergate\" and the upcoming Sea Biscuit movie, this could be the biggest shot in the arm racing has had in a long time.

Of course, the biggest test is still to come. I am hoping that the rest of the Preakness field fell apart and that Funny Cide did not run a monster fig despite the large margin of victory. I was a little disappointed that he was hard ridden even after the outcome was no longer in doubt. He may need all of those reserves and then some in the Belmont.

In the mean time we will have to wait three weeks to find out if there will be a \"classic\" storybook ending. I will definitely be cheering for one...

There will be value in the Belmont. Funny Cide has now run three big ones in a row. Just like you had to see that Peace Rules was shot for the Preakness, you\'ll have to give the sentiment a rest and see that Funny Cide is vulnerable next out.

Hope everyone keeps cashing. HP

Thats it for Mr.Funny Cide......bounce time.

Agree with the sentiment that a TC winner would be great for horseracing with a Seabiscuit booster shot in July, might help create a significant increase in the sports popularity; we can only hope!

Dr Frankelstein has Empire Destroyer waiting in the wings with 5 weeks rest and Chris Clement\'s Dynever has been pointing to the Belmont from the get go (the Belmont\'s wiseguy horse?). Perhaps another Sarava lurking in the shadows? Can\'t wait!

May they all come home safely!
