Travers Day Late Pick 4

Here\'s how I see the Travers Day Late Pick 4.  Not crazy about the number of short priced horses that look tough but if one of the longer shots can win at least one of the races it could still pay decent.

Race 9:

Rapport: Ran well over the Hollywood surface which plays like dirt.  Bounced at Calder but note NO shippers ran well that day. He\'s poised to run a top and if he does is the most likely winner.  

Beyondallboundaries: Is the fastest horse in the race.  His pattern prior to last suggested a top.  He should pair it which puts him right in it.  

Sister Dawn doesn\'t thrill me but these synth to dirt horse are always tricky to read and can sometimes pop a number first dirt.  

The others would need new tops and none look threatening to me.


Race 10)


Informed Decision will be favored and is no faster than a few others.  While she always runs well I will take a stand against this one.

Qualia looks best to me.  Love the pattern which screams new top. Poised for a big one.  

Warbling lost all chance at start last out.  While the Off Poorly isn\'t always a good sign this one does return to the distance where she ran her top.

Jessica is Back has run well but all her best have been in South Florida.  Her last race was the time to cash.


Race 11)

Discreetly Mine will bounce but the question is will it be enough to get himself beat.  Can\'t leave this one off the pick 4 tickets.

D\'Funnybone is soooo consistent and if DM doesn\'t run this one should be right there. I don\'t see why this one doesn\'t run in negative territory.

Hurricane Ike is the sneaky horse to me.  Could explode off the layoff.  Would he be here if trainer didn\'t think he was ready to run a big one off layoff?

Bulldogger is the kind of horse I\'ll play against everyday.  He won\'t get an easier trip than he did in his last and would need to run faster to win.  I don\'t see how that happens.  I don\'t see Bank Merger running a top either.


Race 12)

I can\'t see a 1 or even a 0 winning the Travers.

The only horses that look like they can run faster are:

Trappe Shot
A Little Warm
Afleet Express
Fly Down

I\'ll let any of the others beat me.

Beyondall has the fastest dirt figure, if Rapport can transfer figs from synth to dirt,he\'s faster. Agree with forgiving any horse that shipped to CALDER with it\'s poison, cuppy, quirky surface.

Don\'t sell Bulldogger(little cheap, no works since last) too short as D\'funnybone will only be looking to stalk tomorrow(assuming no gate problem) and Bull could get brave getting 6 lbs. Obviously all up against if Discreetly Mine shows, who is basically jogging/galloping up to this race off that big neg fig in last which is a concern.
