Ouch.  The first bit of bad news for my Oaks-Derby weekend.

Personally, I believe that betting AGAINST Blind Luck was going to be my favorite bet of the weekend, in the Friday pick-4, Oaks-Derby Double and Oaks-Woodford-Derby pick-3.

The logical horse to me and the most likely winner is/was Amen Hallelujah, off the paired 1\'s.  I think the filly was taken a little out of her game last time by Leparoux in that he felt the Biancone horse to his outside (the favorite) was the horse to beat and he pushed this filly out of the gate and pushed a pretty fast 3rd quarter mile, then got swallowed up by Devil May Care, who got a much better, ground saving trip, tucked away on the inside.  I don\'t think she is \"distance challenged\", which is what I have seen some handicappers write.  Because I happen to think Devil May Care is one of the most likely winners of the Derby, I am not going to hold it against Amen Hallelujah that she lost ground in the stretch to her, especially after AH had the tougher trip IMO.

All that said, AH drew post 13. Yuck.......

On the positive, I figured this filly 3-1.  Battaglia is horrible at the ML IMO, but has her at 8-1.  I guess if I can get 8-1, the outside post isn\'t so bad.....

Have to see the PP\'s to see how many fillies entered have speed and if Leparoux can get a tuck with her.

Still believe Blind Luck will be dropping back to last, even with her good draw, then have to navigate traffic in a big 14 filly field.

Tidal Pool got a better draw than AH, and is only a little slower, so could be a contender as well.

After watching a few replays it looks like there will be plenty of speed for BL to run at with Evening Jewel, Tidal Pool, and Champagne D\'Oro who nearly wired the field in the FG Oaks. Need to look further into it.
