I\'ve made a quick pre-analysis of Rachel\'s race this week, and I can\'t believe that no one showed up to try to beat her.  I\'ll have to look at the TG numbers, but I don\'t see much entered here.  It looks like Rachel could run a 3 and still win.

What a buzz kill...

the same is most likely for zenyatta even though i think she may be a little vulnerable this weekend.  i wouldnt say so much of a buzz kill (yet) cause its suppose to be a prep race for oaklawn for them both. The BIGGER buzz would be for them both to race, win, and for zenyatta to still be undefeated going into next month!   if zenyatta gets third place in a couple days and Rachel wins handily, rachel will probably be a 1/9 at oaklawn..can u imagine?!   THAT would REALLY be a buzzkill lol

Seems that these \" super-fillies\" campaigns are IMO a scramble or cobbled together . Personally speaking , I\'d rather see racing in open company or retirement from many of them  .  ..

While I too am looking forward to the \"buzz\" of the upcoming Apple Blossom, that doesn\'t do me any good for the potential score that may have been there to be had this weekend.  All I wanted to see was ONE legitimate threat to Rachel, just one, and so far I don\'t see it.  She could back up a ton and still win this.

So this is in fact, a total buzz kill for me.  There was far more money to be won betting against Rachel this weekend in a race where she is probably going to be 1/9.  So what could have been a huge opportunity to either win six figures or lose a couple of thousand is now gone unless I see something on the TG numbers that really surprises me.

Just another race to watch...  Oh well.  No one said this game was easy.

Lost Cause

So Shireffs has Zardana (poly to dirt) who has speed and is outside of Rachel..Does he tell the jock to put her to the whip and try to force Rachel to run really hard early setting her up for the bounce in the Z race 2nd time off the layoff?

Yes i\'m reaching..

Maybe not so much of a reach. Interesting variation on the rabbit strategy. Using a rabbit in one race for its effect on a 2nd race. Not any less sporting than traditional rabbit strategy but it might detract some glory from a possible Z victory.

No it won\'t. Lets not start.

Rachel can sit or go. Having an overmatched speed horse in there has nothing to do with \"detracting\" anything regarding April 9th.

Ugh.

P-Dub,

I certainly did not mean to imply that would be Sheriffs strategy, or that it would work. I was reacting to a posted hypothetical scenario and saying that it involved a rather novel way of using a rabbit - a race in advance.

My point also was that IF that were Sheriffs plan it would draw the same controversy that the traditional use of rabbits usually does.

Just to clarify, I did not intend to imply that would be Sheriffs strategy and I doubt it would work in any case. Sorry if I gave that impression.

Rachel has proven she can deal with pressure and even if the race tires her, it\'s just as likely to get her fitter for the Apple Blossom as burn her out.
