The weather report for Arcadia is a bit sketchy for Saturday with rain in the afternoon/evening. I wonder if they\'ll get the card in before the rain? I\'ll be watching the track surface carefully. I think they\'ll work on it, so it will likely play pretty fast with the inside paths being best and closers will be at a huge disadvantage. Hopefully, it won\'t be like cement or goo where 75% of the horses won\'t extend themselves at all. Regarding the grass, a very consistent speed bias has help up recently, and I don\'t see that changing either. I\'ll be looking for inside paths and speed/pressers on both surfaces. Might be like BC day only worse. A very strange track indeed. With the synthetic advent, races like the Big Cap have lost their luster, but there should still be good betting opportunities on such a card. I\'m wondering if the BC Classic was indeed only a mediocre race unlike my original assessment; Gio Ponti didn\'t come back and win, but that may not be a good test. Not sure, really.

Hey, my friend just informed me, I\'m a week early. So hold that thought. The Bias information will still hold true for THIS Saturday, but the Big Cap card is yet another matter.

Looks like the rain is coming earlier than expected; I don\'t think I\'ll waste time handicapping another card that may get washed out, I have no way of knowing, but their track record isn\'t good. Yet another California Derby Prep down the drain???
