Props to my buddy P-Dub.  After having had our collective rear ends kicked on this forum for months now, Z vindicates those fans of hers by winning easily.

I\'ve seen some great looking horse flesh in my time, but, visually, no other horse surpasses her.  Big, chiseled, veins on the surface, and nary a drop of sweat after a 10 furlong race.  Seems to me, Z can run with anybody.

I\'ve always given Rachel her due.  I\'ve also promoted Z.  Two GREAT champions.  One or the other, or jointly, a very deserving HOY will emerge.  I\'m certainly not gonna whine if Rachel is crowned, nor will I be less impressed with Z if she merely wins another award and retires undefeated... not a bad resume.

\'09 is not over, so until Z is announced as retired...

2010 may once again provide us with another HOY candidate from the Mr. Jackson/Steve Assmussen connection.  Perhaps there\'s another Helen Pitts or Hal Wiggins, etal, animal to provide a purchase for Jackson/Assmussen\'s next pursuit.

Rachel received a pass from the majority on this board, and Z took the challenge to take on ALL comers in the Classic.  Some of the comments about Z\'s \"gutless connections\" should subside. The easy way out was for Rachel to  \"stay home\", and for Z to run in the Distaff.  Rachel\'s people chose to stay home, Z took the greater challenge.  I don\'t recall Z\'s connections doing anything other than singing the praises of the great campaign by Rachel.  \"Gutless\" directed at one camp and not the other, seems a little unfair.

Sadly these two monsters will never meet and settle the argument on the racetrack. Zenyatta chasing someone faster than she\'d ran against, Rachel trying to get to the wire with an animal that wasn\'t gasping for air the last 1/8th of a mile.  Would have been a spectacular 2 minutes in this sport.  Most of the board feel Rachel would have stalked and stolen away to the \"easy win\", some of us feel Z would have reeled her in.  Do I think Z would have caught her?  Yes...make that HELL YES.

My family and I had a great week at the BC with a few days of Vegas mixed in.  I met a really good man in P-Dub, I was close enough to touch Zenyatta.  It was a great time.

Peace, out...
