thoughts on the take-down?  Politics of Pletcher?  Desormeaux did not look like he came in any more than JV came out to me...no love on the analysis?

The analysis was right on - and I think we all would have been a lot happier with the 12/1 shot on top.

Although I was biased for the 6 to stay up I can see why they took him down.

It was a questionable call.  Not only did JV\'s horse come out as the horses came into the stretch, he also came out as they neared the wire, as revealed by the head-on. To be fair, Kent\'s horse did come in and lean on JV\'s horse in mid-stretch.  Who got the worst of all that could be debated.

More important than all that, however, is this: at no time did either horse have to check (much less steady), and at no time did either jockey have to stop riding.  When that is the case, as it indisputably was yesterday in the Keeneland feature, the stewards should be very reluctant to disqualify.

excellent call her FTurf...I agree completely with how you saw it...no one stopped riding, and no one checked.  Stewards could be offially termed...what?

Ummm..since when do you need to cause another horse to check to get taken down?  A hard enough bump can cause a horse to lose momemtum..and therefore warrant being taken down.  It looked like the horse leaned in on JV a couple of times causing what amounted to an unfair advantage..more than just hard riding.
