OK... can someone smarter than me explain how in the heck BB gets a 107 Beyer for that performance against those horses.  Somehow, that figure is within a length of the Derby? He wasn\'t very wide this time and he was only giving four lbs. to Coal Crud.

Please, please, please enter him against older horses. Please...

Perfect,

Who BB ran against, what weight he carried, and ground loss do not figure into the methodology of Beyer. Incidentally, who a horse runs against does not directly factor into any figure makers formula.

The Beyer for the Derby was arrived at on the basis that it was not that fast against the clock given track speed and other route races.BB\'s wide trip got him the big neg from TG according to their formula.

The Haskell was pretty fast against the clock and the other routes on the day and I thought his Beyer would be in the 104-107 range.

Assuming BB stays in training, who besides Curlin of the older horses can compete with him if he gets back to his best performances? If that Haskell is his best now, he should retire. They are looking for grass next out and the way this horse is being, AHEM, managed by Iavarone, they are sure to screw him up before long.

My bro dined with Tricky last night who said that BB came out of the Haskell with no visible trouble, but up to 72 hours after is usually the time frame for things to show up.
