*********This post is meant to be ironic and funny so no yelling asking me where the content is *********

My old friend Spirit of Gulch and his trainer Estrada Eberd are back to haunt me again on one week\'s rest.

Recall that I posted last weekend that this horse had a very suspicious pattern and I was upset because he was running against a horse that I owned who would have otherwise had an excellent shot according to the sheets (my horse ran up the track by the way).

Well, we dodged a bullet last week because Sprit of Gulch ran a dull 3rd (and my horse sucked anyway).  However, they just posted the entries for the 200k stake at Philly Park on Sat that High Finance (who I own a very small piece of) is running in and who do I see in the entry box but Spirit of Gulch.  I can\'t seem to get away from this guy.  What gives?

Anyone who thought my post last week was a rant, well, let\'s just say you haven\'t seen anything yet if this glorified low level claimer denies HF a money placing this weekend.

Hopefully High Finance will fire big again off of the layoff.  He is a very very poor man\'s Commentator (especially in my case) in that he tends to fire huge off the shelf every year and that big effort sets him back for the rest of the year so it\'s likely our only real shot for a stakes win this year with him.  He shows the classic TG pattern of an unsound horse in that the big efforts set him back huge and anyone who watches him train in the morning usually thinks he is a claimer in that he has such an ugly way of going that he always looks hurt (which he is most of the time).

Jerry did the seminar for the Forego last year at Saratoga for which High Finance was the morning line favorite and Jerry gave it out that the 4 negative that HF ran in his first race off the shelf last May set him back for the year.  HF followed up the 4 negative with a 1 negative in the Tom Fool.  It was deceiving because the 1 negative was good enough to win the Tom Fool and Beyer numbers had the Tom Fool as a very fast race but much like another horse near and dear to all of our hearts who followed up a huge number with a 1 negative while winning, the damage was done and by the time that HF got to the Forgeo, he was cooked and spit up the bit after setting very easy fractions, just like the other horse this year that had that same pattern.
