What do you all think about the Alabama Stakes? I\'d like to see Octave win. Any thoughts about good tri pics and your rational?

I\'m not certain which fillies are going to run yet.

However, if my information is correct there are a total of 19 fillies nominated. Of those 19, 5 are trained by....\"you guessed it\"...Eyeballin the shed row out of the corners of his eyes \"Sneaky Peek Plech\". The man ran 5 colts in a 20 horse derby field and came up a little shy, but he\'s got 5 in here with only 19 fillies entered so maybe the odds are a little more in his favor this time.

But not so fast! Here are his five:

Cotton Blossom;
Mini Sermon;
Octave;
Panty Raid; and
Rags to Riches.

However if Cotton Blossom goes they\'ll have to consider the Memorial Plech \"Playing with Pain\" award for her because she darn ripped her hoof off in her last. I think they are trying to save her for breeding and though shes somewhat likely to throw a gimp, Plech can always use another horse to replenish the ranks of the fallen and/or over-medicated, as the case may be.

Mini Sermon looks kinda like a New York Bred to me, but with Sneaky Peek, there really is No such thing as a \"New York Bred Slow Rat\". Shes been raced a little shorter, probably in consideration of her Pedigree, but he did nominate her, so here she is. (They say she\'s from Virginia, but I ain\'t buying it.)

Octave has never missed the perfecta and she won at the distance and at the track. She comes in with the patented \"just long enough to tamper with\" layoff, so she figures to be effective. But at times with logical resumes, also comes hidden opportunity.

Panty Raid comes in winning at the distance in a Grade I, albeit on the grass. But shes on a little winning streak of her own and also has a win at the track. She also won the Black Eyed Susan.

Rags to Riches is still deciding if she really wants to run again and the stable elected to pass this spot. Still dont think she ran fast in the Belmont, but she did run quick late and seems to have something going on they can\'t put their finger on.

So where are we? Ahhhh, a betting strategy! Octave is certainly a very pretty soft looking grey color. I bet her nose is like the most plush velvet and she certainly looks secure to finish first or second again doesn\'t she?  Or does she?

My shrink believes that what I desire is to rule the world, however he mistakenly believes that I\'d be a benevolent ruler. Right now what I\'m really want is a piping hot cup of Java Gold.

I plan to completely toss Octave from all exotics and pick N wagers. She will be an unbelievably underlay against what I consider a good field.

Moon Catcher
Panty Raid
Tough Tiz\'s Sis
Octave
Folk
Lear\'s Princess
Lady Joanne

Here is the most recent list for the Alabama- The field is getting smaller.
Can any one talk about the individual horses?
 Or if you like, Saturdays pick 4 at Ellis would be fun!

Hi girly - Welcome to the TG board  . I like and agree with your post on the recent medication  thread .

IMO - In the Alabama  , Moon Catcher looks like \"the play\" ( as a win bet ) not to bounce now at 6-1 ml and her last number really lays-over the field , she could regress a couple points now and still win .

Like Moon Catcher ,every horse in the field is off a top effort ( or theoretical top in Folks case ) and to varying degree\'s ,  all have chances of bouncing now - though that would be unlikely .

Lears Princess came around to a top off a healthy looking type circle pattern and looks strong at 10-1   .  Folk has ran well 2nd off a lay off before and could do it again . Both horses along with Moon Catcher round out my tri box + sm win bets on any 15-1 & up . Getting value and a good price relative to the horses ability and chances for winning is a main consideration  ...

Marcus, you mentioned almost every horse except the winner..............

Spa- I know a lot of folks like Moon Catcher to bounce over the moon , but if she don\'t and the price holds up - you got a $ 14 dollar horse ...
I\'m 50 this weekend so how can I possibly be wrong about the play   ! But seriously , when was the last time you saw a  race where every horse comes in off a top  ?  Who did you say you liked in the Alabama again ...

Marcus,enjoy your posts........Panty Raid is my choice in a tough race.

I watch and wish and those pompadours keep my mind off Barry Irwin and his unkind rants.

Ahhhh! The Red Army on horns and backing vocals. Someday, comrades, someday....

That was very entertaining Clone. Much better than horses snapping legs. Think I like that version better than Skynards.

That really was the Red Army Choir. A real Russian is like a real trainer, you can tell just by looking at them. However the band was counterfeit, sort of like a substance trainer. They are Finnish not Russian.

The hair styles were a little over the top for me, but what got on my wish list were the shoes. I\'ve always wanted a pair of \"Grinch Shoes\".
