Any chance he left it all out there on Saturday?

I guess we just have to wait and see what the number was.

\"Street Spent\" - very interesting ...  SS didn\'t seem like he lost much ground and there was no \"immaculate recovery\" or trouble trip etc and he didn\'t look worked very hard getting to the lead and to the inside path once having got the lead -  couldn\'t say if that move into the one path was a BI or not but that number certainly will be interesting ...

imo - SS looked fatiqued during the entire stretch run and still i would guess that he had more in him but that doesn\'t necesarily mean at all that energy saved during a race can be ( street ) spent at a later time or next time . I belive if Street Sense \"really\" comes out of the race in a good and relatively positive manner that we have a Triple Crown Winner ...

MO

He galloped a mile on Sunday. Highly unusual for Derby winner. The horse is trained by CN who had made no plans beyond the Derby. The Preakness was an afterthought and thus the gallop on Sunday. The horse will be ready, but may not like the track.

Nice pick MO. You were out there and out there early.

I like that style.

The race comes down to this. Street Spent beat the same horses by 10 last fall and beat the same horses by over 8 last Sat. Except for one horse who was a new shooter.

The new shooter got the next to last quarter in 26, a breather, and turned for home with a 3 length lead. The rider cut him loose and he widen on the rest of them by another 2 and 3/4, beating them a total of 5 and 3/4.

Street Spent went by him like he was stopping not drawing off.

There is no four month rest like last fall. We will find out what he is made of in two weeks.

This isn\'t a question of ability it is a question of resiliency.

The top two pretty much decimated the others, but they had about ideal trips too.

Calvin got to celebrating with about a pole to go and his weight was all over the place.

Tenatively though, I\'ve begun to believe that the next two events will be harder for him to win.

Mo - thanks for that sunday gallop and trainer info - sounds like a very unique situation . i can\'t imagine  the Pim surface could be so much to the horses dislike that it would be a potentially inhibiting factor as perhaps was the case with polytrack .

Street Sense was not a tired horse......When he went after Hard Spun, he caught him in 15 jumps. He\'ll fly over the Preakness surface.....I\'ve said this before,If you hate your money bet against this horse.

Not so sure it was luck but more by design.

Uncle Buck

Bloodhorse reports this:

Street Sense's herbalist, Cathy McGlory, fed the colt carrots and commented that he only lost 10 pounds in the race. Nafzger brought Street Sense out for a jog, and the colt looked amazing, pausing, as he usually does, with his head and ears up. "Look how bright-eyed that s.o.b. is," Nafzger commented. "He's a monster."

Silver Charm

The horse covered the last six furlongs in around 1:10 and made up nearly twenty lengths on the front runner.

There have only been a few three year olds that could be put to that kind of a sustained drive. Names or A NAME that will not be mentioned here.

We saw what kind of horse he was on Saturday, we will \"really find out\" what kind of horse he is in two weeks.

Correct on the lengths, but the last six furlongs he ran in 1:12

Silver Charm

Anybody trying to beat this horse better hope he can\'t take his track with him.

This work indicates there is plenty left.

Take notice all of you Hard Spun lovers out there.
