Can Summer Duldrums take step forward?  At 9-1, I\'ll take the bet. At least to split the top two

ronwar - the wood and the other wknd preps were very interesting ( migrain headache and all ) and a little tricky to handicap . personally , it\'s difficult for me to accept less than 3-1  in any race ,  prep or otherwise . curious to see what they all ran today - i\'m luke warm on summer doldrums and leaning torwards others - yet undetermined . imo - street sense\'s pattern didn\'t look to bad last time i looked , i think the derby is very wide open this year and still belive west coast horses will get shut out from winners circle in any triple crown races this year although sam p. and liquidity ( if didn\'t bounce too badly ) seem to have imo improved their chances w/ todays races   ...

The normally unflappable Todd Pletcher was a wee bit upset today at Aqu when every other question was about CQ skipping the Wood. TAP looked kinda pissed off after Any Given Sat layed down at 1/16 pole and bemoaned the trip which was tough but not that bad.

Through the binocs I saw Cornelio V wrestle with No Biz for the first 5f at least. I was surprised No Biz stayed on late after being wrangled like that. Big SOB is still green but appeared to run straight down the lane for a change.

In the Carter, my idol, Trickey Ricky ran back Kazoo on one days rest to ensure that Silver Wagon would have a ridiculously fast pace to run at. Interesting though that Kazoo is owned by an entirely different group but yet ran as a sacrificial lamb. Of course the Trickey crew crashed the windows making the winner a very short 2-1 in that tough spot.

I am curious to know what the experts here think the odds/percentages are of Sightseeing pairing today\'s thoro figure  (whatever it comes back as) in the Derby. His figure had to be equal to No Biz\'s today factoring in the paths. With a larger field and a hotter pace I can see him contending in the stretch at Churchill.

I still think Street Sense and Great Hunter have all of these over a barrel however.

Don\'t think Sightseeing will go to the derby. He will get a fig near No Biz but he didn\'t do anywhere near the running that No Biz did.

...not to mention that Shug and the Phippses have historically been immune to Derby Fever...
