Between Sarava and Power Choice, which looked better at 70-1??

Interested in all opinions....

I thought Power Choice looked better. At the weights (114 vs. up to 122 for a lot of the other contenders), Power Choice\'s 5-1/2 top could have taken it. As I recall there were only two (Mott\'s horse and Thunder Blitz) in there that were faster, and a bunch that were about that level. The winner was first time U.S. (pretty sure on this), and I included him in my gimmicks.

Sarava had never run a number close to the top contenders in the Belmont. Of course, hindsight being 20/20, good 3yos are capable of moving up dramatically.

I\'m sure this is a waste of time, as you have obviously prepared some diatribe that you are waiting to break out for our benefit. I can\'t wait. HP

Oh no, HP - no diatribe - thanks for your response.

Have to disagree. Power Choice on TG looked ugly, 3 big X\'s in last four races, but the whole race looked that way with several running big tops, a good race to pass.

Sarava, on the other hand, in his 3yo debut hit his 2yo top 7.5>>>>5.75>>>>>4.0 In retrospect, a rapidly improving horse. Unfortunately, having not raced further than 8.5F in his career was a big negative in my book, ooops.

In both instances both needed a 2pt move forward to be competitive and Sarava looked more the part than Power Choice.

May they all come home safely!

I agree with you bdh. But the \'ugliness\' was why Power Choice was 70-1. I could definitely see how Sarava looked better to you, I just didn\'t get it. And unlike some (not you), I won\'t pretend to see it now! Regards, HP

I didn\'t have Sarava either. I was just looking at the charts and saw that Power Choice was another JB horse and also 70-1.

So, for sheets and grins I thought it might be interesting to see if some people (especially the ones that played either or both of those horses) thought one of these offered more of a betting opportunity than the other - even if we are looking at it in hindsight.
