And my picks from a week before the Belmont to this past week at Churchill Downs have been poor. In the Stephen Foster the horse I picked to win ran like a turd. The good horse I factored to miss the exacta ran like a great horse and my longshot ran up the track...lol. Street Cry\'s Dubai Cup number and steady progression made him the sheet play in my estimation and congrats to those picking him. I couldn\'t bet him even with hindsight though, but next time hopefully I\'ll be knowledgable enough to pass a race where I think a good horse is vulnerable to an even money favorite. Overconfidence breeds stupid wagers. And theres nothing to redeem from the Foster. I stunk up the joint.

Sometimes the Bailey vs Day variant becomes so large that you just can\'t ignore it. I hit this race (win and pk3, missed the exacta), but made the mistake in the Dan vs Steven race (which cost me the pk4).

yeah, nobody\'s using a crystal ball --- you can get bad picks from anybody.
in fact, some of the biggest mouths in handicapping often produce the worst results.

you didn\'t get the finishers right, but I think you made a good choice stepping out against a short horse.
the tricky part is figuring out which shorties should be played against, and which deserve respect.

sometimes you\'ll cash on that, and sometimes you get burned --- you just want things to go your way in the long run.
there\'ve been plenty of public picks that\'ve burned me in the past, but all it takes is one war emblem to make up for it.
