Was looking at race and noticed the 2 favs., both ran about an hour apart from each other on Oct 21. They both carried 119, both had exact same running line,{set pace, drew off, 2w}, final time was .3 sec different. Yet RF got 5.5 points faster than PK. This seemed like alot to me. This question kinda fits discussion about track changing, but I was wondering if there is something else I am missing. At 6 fur I am assuming 1 pt. equals about 1.2 lengths.

Huck-- that was an extremely tricky day, featuring a split variant, and a major timing error (not either of those 2 races). But yes, the split came between those races, and I used a 4 point different variant. That was a day they did not water the track at all, and there was a lot of wind-- track might have dried out a lot through the day.

Jerry, thanks for the quick response. I would have bet alot of money that was an error. If you are right about this, and I am going with you on it,especially by how quick you responded and the answer you gave, then this is what separates your product from the rest. Beyer had them 3 pts. different, which fits his model. The difference in all these speed figures is getting the tough days right. Thanks again, and I hope that Rich Fantasy isn\'t that fast tommorrow.

Huck-- seems to me that you are talking about 2 fillies who are much the fastest, but each is at least 50/50 to bounce. Hard to see an edge in a situation like that from a betting point of view.

And that\'s also why I\'ll be looking at least as much at the others out of those races in determining whether those figures are right.

I agree with you. I am looking for someone in the second tier to jump up 4 or 5 points and get in the mix. I think Lampoon is ready to explode forward. That is why I was hoping RF didn\'t run as fast as you had her, because now she can still bounce and win. Also would you ever go back and change a number, after a couple months.

I have a list at any given time of races to go back and look at 5-6 weeks later. In fact, I reviewed about 7-8 races today, changed one (a maiden claimer at Lrl). I have 14 races on the list right now from Oct 1 on.

For the record, and I don\'t have the sheets in that race, but I kinda like the 2 with the inside bias at Hawthorne, plus these are the days that Hazelton trains for.
