Its really a shame War Emblem broke so poorly. I\'m not certain it would have made a difference, but I tend to think he would have been a money horse at worst. There were 9 lengths back to third.

Seattle Slew would have overcome that break. Heck, he did in the Derby. Obviously War Emblem is not in that league. A truly Great horse overcomes adversity and apparently War Emblem is not versatile enough to be great. But he\'s darn good and I\'m happy that those that took shots at him with horses the likes of Perfect Drift and Medaglia D\'oro lost. If they beat him square I\'d say good job. I had War Emblem on top in my Tri. I thought he was gonna win it. And I think without the stumble he would have. We\'ll never know. They\'ll never run 12 again. But if he stays sound we haven\'t heard the last of War Emblem. Not by a longshot.

At first blush that final time was very marginal for the top two in my opinion. We\'ll see what T-graph says later.

\"And I think without the stumble he would have. We\'ll never know. \"

you mean YOU\'LL never know --- I think the rest of us have got a pretty good idea.

I do not think that horse is capable of running a mile and a half, decent break or not. If he stays healthy through the summer, I can see him having an impact at Monmouth or Saratoga, but I will be very surprised if he is competitive in the fall.

War Emblem didn\'t fade after finally getting the lead at about a mile into the race. He died at the break. I had to dance with who brung me, but I\'ve seen enough to know he didn\'t bounce. I\'m not saying he\'s a Dr. Fager. He certainly isn\'t, but that horse needed to be free running on the lead as well. Of all the horses that participated in this years Belmont the one most likely to run that race in two twenty seven and change was the hard luck Triple Crown loser. I read what Baffert said and felt the same way. The race was lost on the break. When War Emblem stuck his nose in front I said: \"My God he must be a superhorse.\" But he fights the jockey and himself when not allowed to run free and at the mile mark he was fatigued from those battles. He\'s done it before and ran out of gas in similar fashion. They tried to rate him when Repent beat him down south. Theres been many good ones like that. I don\'t think he\'s a Fager, or a Seabiscuit or maybe not even a Holy Bull, but I think he\'s much better than many here understand. At any rate he\'s a heckuva lot better than Perfect Dread.

there\'s a lot of people like you.

that\'s why I\'ve got a chance at the track.

ps

\'of all the horses that participated in this year\'s belmont\', he was the easiest throwout.

when you cash him at 20-1 --- good pick.
when you hold onto him at 6/5 when he\'s clearly sitting on an off race --- that\'s bad handicapping.
