The more I read about this case the more I think our esteemed Attorney General may finally get his ----s chopped off for overreaching. In my opinion it\'s going to be very hard for them to prove anything to a jury in this case, especially since it\'s seemingly unclear what the intentions of those accused were. The explanation that the larceny charge devolves from unqualified (overweight) jockeys preventing qualified jockeys from riding for those purses is tortured at best. And if they are serious about that, why not indict the jocks accused? The clerk of scales didn\'t pocket that dough Santos won on Lion Tamer. I\'m all for the rules and integrity in racing but this really seems like a tempest in a teapot when it comes to the broader state of thoroughbred racing.

Twoshoes, I don\'t want to roast this Attorney General because I think hes got real good issues to address in this sport and seems to have focused (for whatever reason) upon it. If he can focus in the right direction theres good to be done.

But, you are completely right. When you read this thing the ends are all loose and it is the most selectively tenuous law enforcement I have ever seen.
