I think wagering strategy, money management and value are much more important than 1-5 pounds=1 point. This game is not about who is the best horse but who is an overlay. You guys are splitting hairs. Speed numbers are only a piece to a big puzzle which can\'t be defeated by figures alone. Let\'s face it guys the horse has been out of the barn for many years, everyone has the speed numbers. It\'s kind of comical that we pursue even more accurate speed figures.

You must use something to determine value, right? Plenty of times a horse is an overlay because it is getting weight (especially if it\'s not, as you put it, the \'best horse\'). That\'s what this whole discussion is about. HP

It seems to me that your translating weight to come up with a more accurate speed figure. Is that right?

HP

No, it\'s not right.

I\'m saying that the 1-5 pounds = 1 point equation is the kind of thing that can have an impact on your wagering strategy, money management and determination of value.

I agree. Weight is another piece of the puzzle. Sometimes a big piece and sometimes not a big piece. I\'m not \'translating\' anything. If you think it\'s splitting hairs, then don\'t use it. Everybody has to decide what they\'re going to use and what they\'re going to throw out.
