It would be interesting to know how deep the cushion is today at Belmont.

JB,

It\'s posted at 4 inches and I talked to Porcelli who confirmed the measurement today. For the last 4 race days(I was there) the track was being sealed EACH DAY anticipating rain with the posted cushion at app 4inches.

Obviously, I do not buy the cushion depth or there is excessive moisture in the surface.Just for your info, the variant computer geeks have the track at plus 120 all week(i.e.six lenghts faster than what they call \"par variant\")

I can\'t even imagine how you deal with this cushion situation the last few days when making the figs.Good Luck!!

JB,

FYI,Saturday the surface played plus 140(7 lenghts faster) according to the variant geeks.

As an aside, can you imagine the horsemanship/spotting/nutrition program capabilities being displayed by John Rodriguez(Dutrow\'s fill in). If this crew doesn\'t have the \"magic bullet\" then my name isn\'t Mike.On Friday an owner of Dutrow\'s told me I could bet ANYTHING I wanted on Silver Train running Saturday(2nd time Dutrow).I showed him my sheets and asked how he was so sure he could handle Ingot. He smiled and said\"JUST BET.\" Unbelieveable performance by Silver Train, despite the glib surface.

Now I expect to read on this board a posting by someone who is going to write about this horse having shown potential, improving  3yr old. etc, etc.You CAN\'T be watching the performances of most of the runners from this barn and not have strong suspicion about what\'s happening.

Mr. Lawrence Q. Walters seems to have discovered the same \"magic bullet!\"  Can\'t they do like harness, just ban guys they think might be cheating?
