Lot of speed in the race. I wouldn\'t mind having a horse sitting just off the pace on the inside - especially if RH gets hung out on the 1st turn.

I\'m hoping for a big effort out of RH even though I think he\'s probably going to be overbet. I would love to see another quality speed in the Derby. :-)

Chuckles_the_Clown2

I can\'t bet the race. I like Rocky, going wild is not a bad horse if hes right. I would think Lukas is gonna send him cuz he needs the earnings. Rocky is gonna see a pace test for the first time is my take, but I\'m gonna watch.

I think Going Wild is going to run a lot better today than in the Wood, but it\'s hard for me to like him here anyway with RH and all the other speeds in the race. I rarely like the horse I think is the second best speed. We\'ll see. The track condition could have an impact too.

Todd Pletcher I want to have your children!!!

The only excuse for R. Harbor could be the off track.  You could see coming out of the first turn that he wasn\'t going to run his race.

In any case I don\'t think he\'s a 1 1/4 horse.  Very few of them are, that\'s why you see a lot of wobbling when they get to the 1/8 pole at CD.

If I owned Golden Man, I\'d be looking for a prep race for the Preakness.

Lukas is now out of Derby bullets. Rockport Harbor looked bad,(either he didn\'t like the surface or all the injuries and lack of conditioning showed). Was a good race to make money and bet against the favorite  especially under the weather conditions.

Yes it was. Both the favorite and 2nd choice were overbet and vulnerable. :-)

Lukas still has Consolidator & I still like him.  Good horses run bad races (we saw that today).

But only good horses run races like Consolidator\'s San Felipe.

He\'s worked well at CD which I consider a very good sign.  And speaking of workouts, was High Fly carrying a refrigerator yesterday?

Bally,

Your entitled to your opinion. Nothing from So Cal except Greely Galaxy looks worth betting. Nothing from the Lukas stable is running worthy of a Derby caliber horse that I have seen. Unless Consolidator was just out for some conditioning in the BG, it was not visually impressive nor was it in terms of figures. He could fininsh in the Superfecta but thats the best I can see him finish.

On his Good Races who did he beat Giacomo who is still eligible for NW1?

BA:

The only excuse for RH was Derby fever and mismanagement. He proved that he could not handle slop, and that he could not run from behind horses.

The winner\'s dam was sired by Conquistador Cielo, and I would look for regression when he returns on a fast strip.

If RH is entered in the Derby, I may call my local branch of the ASPCA. I think you will read soon that Going Wild is going Preakness, that Baffert will be at Churchill with Sort It Out.

  Most Mismanaged Derby Contender List
  1) Sweet Catomine
  2) Rockport Harbor
  3) Galloping Grocer

Hey, Galloping Grocer runs at Aq tomorrow, likely 3/5 against New York Breds. I think he may have been discouraged enough by running in Bellamy Road\'s wake that he is a strong bet against Sunday.

Bally Ache

As you suggested Fri., maybe the Remsen was too much for R. Harbor & G. Grocer.  If you remember, Read the Footnotes & Second of June put on a helluva race in the FOY last year but it knocked them both out.

Sweet Catomine on the other hand is a textbook case of Derby Fever & mismanagement.  That filly was only a Derby contender in her owner\'s mind.

Good guess.

It\'s interesting that they\'re putting up $100K to run a Dutrow trainee in a race subject to supertesting.
