RHT = Beyer 106

Andy gave RHT a 106 for his victory in the SA Handicap. Obviously that is a very slow figure for Grade I older horses. Essentially, he has RHT more or less duplicating is last effort and everyone else running back to their dreadful Beyer figures coming in. He also has St. Liam going way off form.

Also declans got like a 95.  I think the figure is a bit light.  The track was drying out and you cant use the first race at all and maybe not the thrid.  The fourth was run to par and 142 2/5 is about par the santa catalina.

Sounds right. I never believed that RHT was a classic racehorse. I tapped out on CONGRATS and luckily caught the exacta because my buddy convinced me to save with the other Mandella.

I used a process of elimination and I was pretty confident that CONGRATS, although no world-beater, would be the only one running at the end.

Still stinging over GIGLI yesterday. Much the best. Loses to PRINCH ARCH,whom McPeek swore was 1) prepping for a Dubai race, 2) experimenting with the distance and 3) did not like the hard GP turf course...\"he really wants it soft.\"

McPeek is so bad he does not even know how to train a horse to prep.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I wish Your Buddy talked to me to save with Mandella Exacta (Where else have I heard this at Santa Anita). I left that night talking to myself how stupid I was. I had Congrats in Pic4 (had other 3 legs) and Keyed on top of a few tri\'s.

Also I never read the article in DRF your talking about (thank goodness). All I remember was how good Price Arch was on closing day at Saratoga with a layoff and that he had beat quite a few good turf runners last year. Mustanfar was outside today and he was inside was the difference. Gigli (not the typical frankel turf form) killed my tri sneaking in between Mustanfar and Navesink River. Thank God I had $100 win on Arch it bailed me for the weekend.

We should have talked all weekend we would have made a huge score.

95 does seem kind of light for Declan. Andy didn\'t have the 3YOs out there running particularly fast coming into that race, but if Declan only ran a 95, then the others should be pulling a wagon :-)

I went back and looked at the charts and the track wasn\'t as slow throughout the day as I at first thought and said. I heard lots of water was sprinkled on it prior to the Big Cap and that could be why the time looked a tad light. This one is in Jerry\'s yard. I really can\'t say.

I do think the Big Cap has suffered a Marquee deficit the last couple years. Congrats to save the day? I\'m highly skeptical. For a million dollars you\'d think you\'d get the very best handicap horses. Then again, there aren\'t that many out there right now.

remember, Beyer doesn\'t do wide add about 3-4 more points to that and you get your \"performance beyer\"........lol

I sure didn\'t think six and seven furlong preps were the way to start bringing Foggy around, but it is early. He\'s got time to stretch out. I\'ve rarely seen a horse run as impressively as he does that pulls up so easily. Visually, he appears to be running out of juice or very nimble. It might be the latter. I was not high on him and if he was mine I would have sold him two weeks ago. Not now, though I keep in mind even the trainer was of the opinion that 2 million was too much to turn aside.

I\'m really struggling with Hallandale now. Its much harder for me to tell whats a good time. I think Foggy got a very nice TFig on the Swale. I suspect the track was speeding up a bit but I can\'t tell for sure.

I have trouble with the idea of a horse blessed with this much brilliance also being able to get 10F. Only superhorses can do that and they come around so rarely I\'d be happy to bet against the Fogster if he takes a lot of money.

So far I haven\'t been really impressed by anyone in terms of both ability and confidence at 10F. Maybe if Bandini moves forward again. I liked Sun King\'s race a bit too.
