Thats what Wygod said in the below article. He\'s referring to Sweet Catomine. She may be that good, but I sure wouldn\'t make plans off of a 2 year old filly race in October. I think I\'d wait until after the Santa Anita Derby, to say, \"I got my Derby horse\".

She was fast in October, but she is a Storm Cat. Will she be as effective in May? Seems to me that April is as soon as you can begin to project a filly that far forward. I think Genuine Risk and Winning Colors both proved they could be competitive vs. the boys in April before their connections felt they had found their Derby horse.

I think he has got one but he has to look a few stalls down in his barn.

Wooden Ticket, his AP Indy colt that won at first asking on Saturdaty was ultra impressive.

Obviously behind, but a world of ability.

You know what they say, he could be any kind.

I Hope he does got his Horse cause I\'ve got $100 Future on the horse.

At least he has the intention to run vs Boys and that gives me a chance.

Storm Cats on Top are not always a bad thing at 10F see Giants Causeway. Kris S on the Bottom not too shabby either.

Good luck to all.

Didn\'t like her come back # an \'x\' if you will. I understand that she wasn\'t cranked for her return, but fillies tend to top out early. Presently, she won\'t win the Oaks, let alone the Derby.

May they all come home safely!

Geez it was a 5 horse field and one was a stablemate. Call the Fig what you will but look at any previous Derby winner and you will see that 1) the horse doesn\'t usually meet 2 yo top first time out, usually meets it 2/3rd time and then they expolde to new top (at least the winner usually does). That race for SC was a public work out. Don\'t get all hell bent on that number it was not a meanigful race. Sometimes  (like this weekend) everyone is ready to throw Harlington and GG to the wolves. Neither was cranked for that workout. But GG din\'t look good at all IMO.

Harlington and GG were the best bet against races in quite sometime. Unfortunately I din\'t pic exactly right in either race. (But was damn close...lol)

Fillies definitely mature sooner. That\'s why the best 2yo fillies often run faster than the boys. That allows exceptional ones to remain competitive through the Derby. However, by the time the fall comes, most of those top filles have fallen behind the best colts.

I Definitely buy into that theory.
