Some things never change...

Today, at 2:30 am PST, ESPN Classic broadcast a replay of the 1979 \"60 Minutes\" story with Harry Reasoner on the doping of thoroughbred racehorses.  At the end of the broadcast, Steve Kroft came on to update(circa 2004) saying the problem still exists and that the users are always one step(i.e., generation) ahead of the detectors!  

What I found most interesting about the story was one of Harry\'s questions:  Do you think that trainers manipulate the use and non-use of performance enhancing drugs...and
doesn\'t that make it really hard on the handicapper (bettor)?

He either had a really good researcher or Harry was a racetracker!

Those guys that do that investigative reporting are not dumb. But I agree with you Deb, the cycling use of substances was an \"insider\" question...lol

I don\'t believe they manipulate the use of the same drug. I think they wait for their chemist to \"update\"the drugs thereby staying ahead of the testing people. That\'s why I think that some of the juice guys go \"silent\" occasionally.
