This upcoming Saturday will most likely be the last time there is horse racing at Arlington Park.  They did not apply for 2022 dates.  The property will be sold and CDI doesn’t want competition with their interest in Rivers Casino which is only about 10 miles away.

Arlington has been dead for a long time.  The State of Illinois struck the first blow during the Quinn era when they wouldn’t allow slot machines at the track.  This allowed the corporate monster to kill the nicest track in North America.  CDI let the quality of racing plummet and nothing that runs there now even remotely resembles the glory days.  I once saw Spectacular Bid race there, now I had to settle for Dom the Bomb.  I will really miss the fun afternoons of live racing.

My question for everyone is which track will be next?

That\'s an easy one - Lone Star.  For the same reasons.  There are more TX license plate in the lot at Oaklawn in one stakes carded weekend than at Lone Star the whole meet (slight exaggeration).

Hopefully it\'s Churchill Downs.

Thanks for sharing. Imperialism was in that race? Remember catching him at a big number in a turf race at Belmont. Those were the days my friend.

Good Luck,

Anyone else see AP card for today?

105 horses for 9 races. I\'ve never seen that type of card for many, many years.

Everyone wants one last chance to saddle at AP, I guess.
