Caught my eye, not expecting to see a SoCal trainer shipping into bad weather. He has entries in the 4, 6, 7 today (Friday) at first glance.

I bet his entry in the 4th. #1 Alcool @7/1. Not surprisingly he dropped a couple of points before the gate opened. The horse ran a credible 2nd beating all except the entry of 6% trainer Edward DeLauro\'s 12/1 recently claimed Joycee Has Pizazz who pretty well crushed the field.

Both would seem to be claim targets, the winner probably headed for allowance company maybe even stakes.

I was just reflecting on the strategic aspects of a trainer\'s business. Belmont\'s meet seemingly off to a good start c/b just feeling good heading into a holiday weekend.

Curious to see riders @ Monmouth flapping their arms in the stretch in a couple of hours?

Edit - The 3 favorites, i.e. the 3rd, 4th & 5th finishers were claimed. Neither of the first two.

Peter Miller is no longer just a So Cal trainer.  He\'s been running multiple horses at OP and CD all spring, among others.
