Explain to me how Abel Tasman stays up not ONCE but twice at the Spa vs. Elate?

Make sure to watch the head-on during the inquiries if you don\'t remember what took place. This happens all the time and is total BS. Different standards.

If blowing the turn was cause for DQ, 20% of the 6.5F turf sprints at SA would result in a DQ when they cross the dirt.

Maybe the infraction rulebook is different based on the name of the trainer.  Interesting comments from Pletcher in here also.

One dissenting voice on the backstretch was another Hall of Famer trainer, five-time Derby winner Bob Baffert. During the race, Baffert stood in the saddling paddock, where he watched American Pharoah win the 2015 Derby and near the small room where he watched Justify win it a year ago. Baffert suggested that the Derby is just a different race from all others, and that everyday rules should not always apply. “No one ever calls an objection in the Derby,” Baffert told me Sunday afternoon, by text. “It’s always a roughly run race. Twenty-horse field. I have been wiped out numerous times, but that is the Derby. I can see by the book why they did it. But sometimes you’ve got to take your ass-kickings with dignity.”

Excellent point about the Santa Anita turf sprints.  I\'ve always thought that dirt strip was bush league.

Well. Bill Mott got his stupid trophy and has been permanently shamed in my useless book. Congrats Bill.

By all accounts Bill Mott is one of the good guys in racing.

But I do have a problem with Mott arguing forcefully for being put up when his horse wasn\'t the one that was bothered and THEN saying oh, wow, I feel really bad about this.

bluechip21

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was referring to. And agree, he’s a good guy but I lost a bit of respect for him after that. Not all of it. Just a bit.

boardedup

Just a bit?  He looked pathetic.  He lobbied then immediately went into the old “golly shocks” spin routine.  Fake and contrived.  #20 objecting was dead wrong, the BB quote sums it up ...”take your ass kickin’ like a man”...,And I had no money involved either way FWIW.
