So, why don\'t these super horses like Winx ever show up to Breeders Cup?
Same comment for Black Caviar when running.  Always seemed odd to me.
Don\'t recall if Galileo ever shipped across the pond either.

Thoughts? Just curious.

Southern Hemisphere horses, you would have to plan an attempt a year out.
Galileo ran in the 2001 Breeders Cup Classic at Belmont,Tiznow rallying back to best Sakhee.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0QqdYJeCts

Black Cavier ran the following schedule in 2011-2012:

Oct. 8, 2011.  Australia
Oct. 22, 2011.  Australia.
Nov 5, 2011.  Australia.
Jan. 27, 2012.  Australia.
Feb 11, 2012.  Australia.
Feb. 18, 2012.  Australia.
April 28, 2012.  Australia.
May 12, 2012.  Australia.
June 23, 2012:  Royal Ascot.  Northern Hemisphere.

All wins.  She also had 5 races in the early part of the year of 2011 before the series of races shown above.  In fairness, she didn\'t race again after the Ascot win until Feb. 2013.  She had an injury and the trainer said she didn\'t cope well with the 11k mile journey.

Others may be able to comment better but I don\'t think Turf racing in \'merika is thought to be a place to conquer by the rest of the world.

The Cox plate, which she is running in tonight has a purse of 5m AUD, or 3.5m usd, so really no reason to take the 20+ hour trip.

The Aussies already feel they have the best horses in the world and feel no need to travel half-way across the planet to prove it. The Japanese, on the other hand, very much want to prove that they can compete on the world stage and have frequently raced successfully all over the world despite the long ship.
In addition the tragedy of Phar Lap is still burned deeply into the Australian memory and makes many fearful of a repetition.

Winx wins and really made it look easy.

At least we get to see the results of some of their sires.

Words are not enough to describe this great filly and her magnificent performance. Here\'s the replay link.

Really extraordinary that both Winx and Zenyatta were sired by Street Cry.
