One must live in a cave to be surprised the winner hasn\'t run since March and by the way looks to be sore in the rear. What is somewhat surprising is how slow the fractions were (I guess that Parx run up etc)

Axelrod ran well and I didn\'t see that one coming.

I suppose someone will assert the track was speed favoring and that helped Trigger Warning last for third,

Hofburg could have been expected to have a troubled trip in so much as he doesn\'t seem to have 1st or 2nd gear and we all know how long it takes to get off the line in 3rd. Hard to tell if Ortiz was a victim or conspirator. Send em to CB and go green?

Core Beliefs, my choice, got every break but couldn\'t catch the 80/1 long shot or hold off Mott\'s trainee who ran 1+1/4 miles.

Zing Zachary great price very lack luster effort. One for those with well developed imaginations.

Bravazo I\'m not sure Saenz knew what horse he was riding? Or maybe D. Wayne had a brainstorm. A plodder who has made plenty of money picking up the pieces in big races runs like he can attend the pace and compete for a win, pulleeze.

Mr. Freeze I do not believe one can trust anything from Mountaineer.

Instilled Regard so he ran third to Mckinzie @ SA then CB gets the horse from J. Hollendorfer and those who don\'t really understand that trainer switch beat the last place finisher down to 5/1. How embarrassing.

Hofburg is Dollar Bill reincarnate.

Saw Bill Mott yesterday and asked him about putting the blinkers on Hofburg. Basically said we need to get this horse to focus on what he\'s supposed to do.

Didn\'t think much of the race. Will have zero interest in any of them going into Churchill including the winner.

Monomoy Girl game as hell but I\'m thinking the long year may be catching up to her.

Highlight of the day was hanging out with Rocky (Mathcapper) and Bill. Would be hard to find two nicer and more knowledgable guys at the racetrack.

Good Luck,

Tavasco:
What do you see regarding the soar in the rear comment?

It may be nothing and I haven\'t looked at a replay. I thought I saw McKinzie\'s tail flicking at about mid stretch for two or three jumps. The kind of action I\'ve been told indicates soreness and pain. Mike Smith also seemed to stop on him. Then again he had all but won?

johnnym

He did flick his tail.
Memory serves me correct he does it when ever he sees the whip watch past replays.

Well, Bravazo (whom I confess to including in my exactas with Hofburg) did attend the pace in his lone stakes win this year.  And the pace of the PA Derby did hold together pretty well.

I was shocked to look at the chart and see that Bravazo went off at 4.8 to 1.  I had him at 7.3 to 1 off the doubles from Monomoy Girl and he was higher than that in the early betting.  A case of the late money being wrong.

Does anyone believe Monomoy\'s stretch run could be due to her being on a dead rail for half the race? If you watch replay of most of the card they were stay 3-4 paths off rail and Geroux had Monomoy right on it. I was shaking my head as the race was running.
