Hard to get too excited these days over a 2YO at this time of year when they seem to be more like flashing comets than next years Big Dogs!! But as far as this one goes Fig Makers have a conundrum with her race in 1:10:63 and the Bashford Manor being a turtle like 1:12+. The Kellys Landing probably means the Bashford Manor is a group of Rats. This McPeek Filly that has been touted for months has a near term future. Saratoga then maybe the Fall. I hope longer

On another note a good friend Handicapper of mine has always told me when you see a Distorted Humor running at Churchill Downs pluck down a little extra. We have heard of progeny loving grass, dirt or synthetic but this might be the first for a particular track. Surprisingly this is very very true

Yes Silver- Kenny told me this horse is \" freak material\" hopefully she stays sound. Maybe he will finally break his mdn and get a breeders cup win. The crazy thing was she lost 4-5 lengths when she checked and still went 110 plus.

Went to Tvg to find the replay. No horse came up by that name.
Would you have a replay please?

Impressive indeed
It’s spelled “Rider”

Silver Charm

Yes and its not called Rambler as the race caller did for the first 1/2 mile. Typo by me....

Regardless how you spell it that is one of most impressive two year old efforts you will see. Not a blast from the gate and run on. She came up the rail until the leader broke down and was literally stopped cold.

Didn\'t I see this McPeek story last year with Ten City and Sunny Skies?

What a great race. Plus she was 5 wide on the turn to boot. Can\'t wait to see her TG figure. Maybe JB can post it.

toppled

Entered in the Spinaway Saturday.  ML is 6/1, she\'ll be more like 6/5.  The only hope is that Baffert/Smith take more $.

Silver Charm

Call your Man. Baffert and the whole American Pharaoh connection will assuredly take money. Toss the non effort by Mr Cub on a boggy rail. A gelding running for $700K tommorrow not $100K. Expect much better. All the hometown teams are where they\'ve been pointing....

jbrown007

Moose any clue why horse didn\'t work for over a month after last? Or anyone know I should say?

Fairmount1

Baffert-Smith at Saratoga a combined 8-7-0-1 together the last 5 years at Saratoga.  All grade 1\'s.  No two year olds trained by Baffert have started at Saratoga in that time frame whatsoever.

On a Beyer note, 6 of those 8 over 100 and the other two \"earned\" 92 and 98 figs.  Jerardi wrote how the Beyer team lowered Abel Tasman\'s number by 8 points b/c the time just didn\'t fit with other horses previous figs.  I think miff would call this some VooDoo.  I looked at the TG figs and based on Elate I am assuming TG didn\'t adjust downward (projected down based on other horses) as much as Beyer???  Curious any comments on this JB since I haven\'t had sufficient time to Really study the comparisons there.

The race was run in 1:47.19 (track record is 1:46.64 by Lawyer Ron).  Marley\'s Freedom ran 7f in 1:21.39 faster than Whitmore\'s 1:21.46.  (track record is 1:20.40 by Darby Creek Road).  Isn\'t it possible these two ran faster b/c Baffert gets horses to run faster in NY?  I\'m surprised Beyer adjusted downward at least on AT and wrote about it. Again, Jerry, any thoughts?  You can wait until Tuesday after the meet is over as I know you have much on your plate.  But, if you have any comments as I\'m genuinely curious your thoughts on the day if that track \"changed\" for that \"freakish fast\" race as Beyer/Hopkins/Jerardi concluded.

At Del Mar, Baffert has started 8 FTS 2yo\'s at this meet.  Anyone want to guess his record?  8 starters, 8 wins.  Meanwhile he is 0 for 7 in graded stakes at Del mar this meet.  We shall see how he does with Mother Mother (2-1) and heavy heavy fav likely in Roadster over the next few days.  He sent Chasing Yesterday east b/c the fillies out west are so tough.....I\'m sure that\'s the reason....... (\"I didn’t want to run her at Del Mar â€" the 2-year-old fillies are really good out there\" is the exact Baffert quote from Welsch\'s DRF article)

Last comment on the Spinaway, several barns believe they have a BC Juvy filly horse in their barn from what I\'m hearing.  You will get far more than 6-5 on RR.  She will be 3rd choice in a 12 horse field behind Baffert and Casse entries.
