\"This...is the business...we\'ve chosen\"

Or, as Carmine Sabatini told a young Clark Kellogg \"Scam?\" \"This is an ugly word this scam...this is business...and if you want to be in business this is what you do\"!!

Do the owners have the purse redistributed when a horse comes up dirty? I always thought so, but never see it announced. Also- curious why there is not a DQ notation on the past running line of a horse that failed the post race test.Been wondering that for years ....figured I\'d ask.

Yes, purse redistributed.  Yes, DQ notation in the past running line.  I have provided an example showing both below.  My favorite part of all of this is the language below that Parimutuel Wagering is not affected by this ruling.

These decisions could all be different state by state though I\'m sure you understand.

Running Line from Equibase:  Look at the Chart for Ellis Park on Equibase for July 15, 2017 (last year) for the 4th race.  I tried copying and pasting from the chart but I am not tech savvy enough to make that happen with their PDF chart (at least not quickly).  It shows the DQ and includes a comment from months later re: the DQ.  It doesn\'t say WHY but it does show a DQ notation from a Stewards Ruling.

Thanks.I guess there may be a delay state to state as I checked Pay Any Price on current Equibase results and did not see a notation...maybe shows up in his next entry. Was trying to figure if there was any angle history to playing against drug DQs switching trainers next out...although in this case Ziadie\'s asst. takes over so not a true barn switch.
