Bet and Get??

Going in a slightly different direction but would appreciate some opinions... So, I get an offer from Xpressbet asking me to comeback and wager and I would get $20 for every $100 wagered. A 20% rebate, capped at $500. I\'m in, made a few $$ and I\'m 15% towards the cap, and 50% to hit the cap. I appreciate the gesture from Xpressbet I dont know if I can make it my go to wagering platform. I kinda feel like I should at least use through the Derby, but not after. I mean I will always use their replay center, thank you. I use NYRABETS, the TG preferred platform, especially if you are a new customer (wink!) I think because of familiarity. I tried some local platforms (CapitalOTB and SaratogaBets) but they stink. Does anyone else pay attention to their overall wagering experience? Who has the best  interface and mobile platform? TVG? TwinSpires? Any glaring issues come to mind, ie NYRA cant get the post times even remotely correct on the mobile site. Please chime in.

I can\'t use NYRABETS in Indiana. I use Twinspires and Xpressbet. I like the Twinspires detailed account history--win% and ROI by type of bet for any time period you choose. But I mainly use Xpressbet, because the interface is much much much better. Much faster to place bets, much easier to construct and save and revise horizontal bets. They show jockey changes on Xpressbet, and I think it\'s easier to see how many minutes to (advertised) post time for upcoming races on Xpressbet. Both sites have a site for mobile devices, but Xpressbet lets you choose to use the desktop site on your mobile device if you want. Twinspires doesn\'t let you do this.

FWIW - Twinspires just this week released a new beta version. The user experience yet to be assessed. One plus, to me, is that Twinspires maintains previous versions. The effect of which is one can have any or all of the three (3) twinspires user interfaces simultaneouly.

Unlike expressbet, one does not have to bet a race (or some minimum number of races) to watch it or others.

Xpressbet isn\'t bad, and they offer batch upload, which, for some ungodly reason , NYRAbets hasn\'t seen fit to install.

Appreciate the feedback. As an IT professional, I am of the opinion that having multiple versions available means that the current release has some issues. I cant tell you how many times I open DRF or Bloodhorse and see complete changes that make no sense, although content is admittedly different than a wagering platform.

Batch upload ability is something of a game changer for any bettor that wants to play \"ABC\"-type multiple tickets in superexotics like trifectas, superfectas and pick 4/5/6 tickets.

It provides several important benefits:

-   It eliminates the time-consuming task of having to manually punch out potentially dozens of different ticket combinations within the limited time available between races and enables the bettor to incorporate sound money management practices instead of having to rely on inefficient “caveman” tickets.
-   It saves horseplayers valuable time between races that can be better spent handicapping each race instead of wasting time punching out ticket combinations.
-   It allows bettors to incorporate new information like paddock commentary and late betting action on the fly by enabling them to quickly implement changes across their entire set of tickets, something that was hitherto impossible because of the time required to adjust all the various ticket combinations in the precious few minutes before the race goes off.

It would be fantastic if NYRA Bets/TGPS could incorporate this feature into their wagering interface. I brought the topic up briefly with Jerry in the backyard at the Spa last fall and he referred me to the expertise of TGJeff, but I never followed up with him at the time because quite frankly I didn’t think any of the mainstream wagering platforms had integrated such capability into their UI/UX and so I figured the chances of NYRA doing so were remote at best.

But now that I see Xpressbet has done it, maybe the idea of NYRA adding it to their own platform isn’t so far-fetched after all?

The technology involved appears to be pretty straightforward. Xpressbet has a “Wager Upload” button on their “Wagerpage” interface that the user simply clicks on to upload a text file in comma-delimited format (as can be generated from any basic spreadsheet or text editing program) into the wagering queue.

It looks like you may need to have an active Xpressbet account in order to view the wagering interface, so I’ve posted the description of it below for reference. The comma-delimited format may sound a bit daunting to those not familiar with it, but it’s readily compatible with basic spreadsheets, and once you’ve set up your spreadsheet to output your bets in the right format, it’s simple to use.

From Xpressbet’s Wagerpage platform:
-------------------------------------------------------
> The comma-delimited text file must have the following format:

> Race Date:   YYYY-MM-DD format.
> Track Code:   Click here for a list of today\'s track codes. Click here for a list of all track codes.
> Race Number:   Do not use place holders (\"1\" not \"01\").
> Bet Type:   Click here to see a list of bet types.
> Bet Combination:   The formatting of the bet combination depends on the combo type. See below.
> Dollar Amount: Number with the format of 999999.99.
> Minimum Odds:   Only for conditional wagering. If you are not using conditional wagering, leave this blank.
> MTP:   The MTP at which the bet will be placed. For non-conditional wagers, this field can be left blank. If left blank, then the bet will be placed immediately.
> Combo Type:   One of the following: WHEEL, KEY, BOX, KEY-BOX, POWER-BOX

> Below is the fomatting for the bet combinations:

> WHEEL: 1-2-3   Example of 1 runner per leg.   1-(2;3;4)-(5;6;7)   Example of combo with multiple runners per leg.
> KEY:   1-[2;3;4;5]   Example of combo for keying a runner on the first leg.
> BOX:   [2;3;4;5]   Example of combo for boxing a set of runners.
> KEY-BOX:   [1]-[2;3;4;5]   Example of combo for keying a runner on all legs of the wager (only 1 runner should be contained within the first [ ])
> POWER-BOX:   [1]-[2;4]-[2;4;6]   Example of combo for keying a runner on all legs of the wager without duplicates (only 1 runner should be contained within the first [ ])

I’d be interested to hear from TGJeff if he feels this is something that’s doable on the NYRA Bets/TGPS interface (?)

I think it should be pointed out that you can make a batch of \"ABC\" type bets with DRF Bets directly from the DRF TicketMaker program. I haven\'t done it because since I have an existing Xpressbet account, I can\'t open a DRF Bets account.

Mathcapper

Yeah, DRF Bets TicketMaker is a very good interface that\'s a huge leap forward in terms of providing bettors with the ability to construct basic \"ABC\"-type multiple tickets, but batch upload capability provides a MUCH more flexible and customizable option for bettors who have a specific approach and would like the ability to implement changes quickly across their entire set of tickets.

Boscar Obarra

Rocky, not only does Xpressbet they have it, they have had it for YEARS

I think others might as well.

Not sure why Nyrabets, with all their high tech savvy, has dropped the ball on this.
