Who had the Urge for Purge ??

Don't know if anyone else notice but me, the odds on Purge went from something like 18-1 with 20 minutes to Post to 14-1 with 5 minutes to Post, to 8-1 as they were going in the Gate.

Considering the size of the win pool these were some HUGE win bet punches. I can certainly see the logic off holding off if you liked the horse because there was the possibility of rain and Purge didn't handle the off track at Oaklawn very well at all. However, hearing Pletchers comments about how the horse fell apart on him in the paddock makes you wonder if these Players knew what they were getting into. Clearly the way he ran they didn't.

Wondering if anyone has some odds tracking data to back this up or any idea where this money was coming from.

Maybe JB\'s bet  He was quoted as saying Purge was 20% to win the Belmont and also selected him on his T-Graph analysis.

I thought it was more likely he would not want the distance than any other decent horse in the race. So it wasn\'t
me.  :-)
