I read an article in the Blood Horse recounting some of Graham Motions thoughts about the upcoming B.C. Mile in which he has two entries. Sorry i don\'t have the link.

While I remember the party line is to not believe anything a trainer says I have always thought of Mr. Motion as a class act, here is my take or interpretation. Before Fact Checking.

1. Ring Weekend has been suffering from hoof problems and only recently got back to top form. Claims that the expected fast pace will be a positive for RW expect a good effort.

2. Miss Temple City has been racing against males as a result of ducking Tepin. With whom she shared a plane to Ascot with earlier this year and knows quite well. Never better and not ducking anybody this weekend.

3. Limato referred to as very impressive horse. Talking heads think a mile is too far for this sprinter and question who he\'s beat. If Mr. Motion is concerned by him in this field he has my attention. Small operation (Didn\'t win to get in ala Kitcat) must be confident to travel all the way to La La Land. @ 10/1 looking for confirmation this one is worth a stab. Remembering Found was considered too slow to consider last year.

4. Tepin @ 4/1 really?

Limato won the Prix de la Foret (7f G1, Arc day) - impressively IMO. He won the same race the year before, and also won a G2 at 7f last year, ran 4th in the Lockinge (1 mile, G1), so I don\'t think he\'s such a stretch to get a mile.

Also noteworthy, he\'s 5/2 at William Hill.

Limato actually was second in the Foret last year to Make Believe, who set a track record that day I believe. Obviously she had success at a mile coming in, but Goldikova used that race twice before winning at Breeder's Cup as did Karakonite. In addition, Royal Academy and Last Tycoon were considered to be accomplished sprinters before their wins. As I understand it, Limato hates soft ground and part of his racing schedule this year had to do with avoiding softer surfaces. Supposedly he was going to go at Ascot against Tepin, but they called an audible with the softer track. I do not follow racing in that part of the world to verify that, but it seems like the Mile is not as much as an after thought as it first seemed.

Oops, you are right re the placings in last year\'s Prix de la Foret!

I think you\'re also right about whether this was an afterthought...

Midnight Storm gets sent from the outside. Photo Call similar tactics that worked at Keenland. What a View sent from the inside post.

Demanding pace likely.

Good Luck,
