Based on nearly ALL of the computer models...Unfortunately, it is going to be an absolute washout...Most of Friday\'s card might not be seriously affected (rain estimated to begin mid-late day on Friday)...but...HEAVY RAIN Friday[ night into most all of Saturday...estimated rainfall between 2-4 inches...

I normally would not even look seriously at Saturday\'s weather until Wednesday. It\'s looking like a can\'t miss washout for Saturday. Friday will be nice while it lasts, hopefully through the better wagering card of the two IMHO.

John and I talk weather a lot, this one seems a done deal.

I\'m so certain of it I\'m sending Richiebee back his mud caulks that he left here last August so he is well equipped for living room downs on Saturday.

Good luck,

Frank D.

It\'s sure to rain but not 2\" to 4\". It\'s rained everyday in May so far down here and we still only have about 3\" total for the month. I saw they\'re calling for 1 1/2\" which is a lot for one day in Maryland, Home of the Preakness!

I agree that when all of the models are in agreement, it\'s normally a done deal---it will certainly rain in Baltimore sometime between Friday night and Sunday morning.

Where the models can be off is the timing. So waiting until Wednesday/Thursday model solutions makes more sense. Hopefully it accelerates and it rains Friday or slows down and it holds off until after the Preakness.

Either way, it\'s Exaggerator\'s race to lose. (had to toss that in)

Good Luck,

Wish you were right but I\'m picking up my tickets tomorrow and I\'ll probably stay home. My wife and I bolted just before the skies opened up last year. Watched the race on TV in a bar.

By the way, if anyone\'s coming in for the race, the Valley Inn on Falls Rd. is a nice restaurant. Good food and a lively bar in a bucolic setting about 15 minutes north of the track. If you\'re looking for dinner Friday or Saturday, book reservations. It\'s a big place but it fills up. No music though if that\'s what you\'re into. Disclosure: I have no ownership or investment interest in the place. It\'s just a fun place with a horsey feel.
