Thunder Gulch backed up in his last prep the 1995 Bluegrass Stakes. I think back then it was called \"the spring pattern\" Two good races followed by an off race/bounce.--Jett

Ask the Experts / Re: Wagering
April 30, 2012, 07:03:52 PM
I try ,as much as possible, for my wagers to support what I think the outcome of the race will be,so that if I\'m right I get paid.So many tmes I\'ve handicapped a race pretty good only to mess it up with crummy betting.Example would be had the winner and lost money on the race.Something I found that has helped me over the years is,actually, writing my bets down.I know you\'re looking for specific wagering strategy, but I thought this might be helpful as well.--Jett

I remember Chris McCarron being especially self critical of his ride on Alysheba that day.I think he almost ran over/into Gone West.--Jett

I was a huge Macho Man fan,one of my all time favorites. When I first saw the name I thought of him.Sad to hear he died in a car accident.--Jett

Thank you so much for posting this.If it wasn\'t for this I wouldn\'t have cashed a ticket.Made a side bet after reading this over and over again.Had 50 cents on the triple and a buck on the exacta.Maybe this is really the answer. If it wasn\'t for this there is no way I ever put Animal Kingdom on a ticket.--Jett

Lukas beat his Derby winner,Thunder Gulch, with Timber Country in the Preakness.Always thought Thunder Gulch ran interference(Boxed Olivers Twist) so that Overbrook could get the win.Nah.--Jett

Back in the day Chavez was my favorite jock in the slop,I used to joke that they should put a mud mark next to his name.I briefly thought about using him today, but was in a hurry and forgot about it.Came home to see that he had won and my horses were right underneath him.Hate when that happens.--Jett

Would you ever consider weighting your play so that if your top choice/choices come out on top you get paid,or even if the longest shot keys the tri you make a nice hit?--Jett

No will pays where I was either.I definitely would have played differently had I been able to see the probable payoffs.--Jett
