Singleton when he comes back.  I had him way on top for BC.  He\'s got to be on edge to run.

I had Ethical 5th w/ my projected TG # before analyzing what they\'ve done.  Here is my top 5.  Based on best fig at dist last 12 mos and factored to Thopattern.  Just a tad behind fav MiniHK.   FYI below.  I went with Aidan and Appleby so no victory for me.  Plus, jky had never ridden him.

Ask the Experts / Pre-Entries BC sheet question
October 21, 2025, 02:04:56 AM
TG - when the pre-entries info becomes available, will it be only in traditional sheet format, or is it possible to get it TG-Quick as well?

Thank you for this.  I\'m surprised.  I guess to the track live is back in vogue.

JV is my all time fav to ride good 2 yo.  Today he goes 21:3 and is leading by 8...then 6, then 4, then gets passed.
I have never seen him ride this carelessly on a monster lead.  What the hell is going on?  Ward directions?  He\'s having a shit meet by histrical standards for him.
And yes, it cost me a nice P5...

Joe B - could not agree more.  Fairmount nailed it.  Keeping all of us on our toes mentally at retirement age can be a challenge if you don\'t have the discipline to keep the mind in shape as much as the body.
My old father in law did the NYT crossword puzzle every day - along with the DRF for Oaklawn!  He\'d walk around the house asking if anyone had seen his pencil...it was in his teeth! True tale!  But he could tell you pretty much whatever the Trnr/Jock combo on the card that day was the one to watch.
Whether I\'m playing or not, I handicap some track every day.
Anyone at DMR this week?

Well, this is the question of the year of course...we want quick satisfaction - 2 mins to win/lose, not 2 hrs baseball, 3 hrs football, who cares about soccer?  Hockey?  I can watch all day...and have the back/nose/hips to prove it!

Roman, not only the prettiest, cleanest, most modern track I\'d been to (box holder a few years in 90\'s after I got the bug), but polite and helpful people in all departments.  Mr D would not like racing today, but I think he\'d be a leader in fixing it.  He was all about standards and doing the right thing - from personal experience.

Richie - could not agree with you more, on all fronts.  If one of the most prestigious tracks in the racing world can\'t be in front of an aggregious oversight (duh-  how long is the race again?), what to make of the \"others\", where it MAY be overlooked (insert local track here) & chalked up to a mistake.
Hell, in CA they would just back all 4 horses out of the gate and reposition the gate (get the dig here?).  Take 2 mins.
I\'m hearing your comment regarding my hometown and the Cardinals & the fans all too often in the last month.  This is very hard to understand and I can\'t even begin to make an analogy.  I\'m getting back up there in September for 2 games for personal observaton.  But when you allow your city to go to hell, who wants to be downtown?  I used to tell people I\'d been to STL and done all the cultural things - both a day and a night game!  It\'s sad to watch from afar.  It\'s close to becoming DC...
You are dead on regarding the retail gamblers (investors is my personal description).
Thanks for posting.

# 5 was losing momentum just into the stretch and had no chance to be ITM.  Just my opinion.  9 was full of himself today.  Never understood what the 2 inguiry was about, JV was all smiles, but at 25:1, nice payday for those of you that had him.
Nice P5 w/ 2 singles...

Excellent question!  If alive, I never go back in same sequence.  Once out, say lag 3, I\'ll certainly play a DD on the last 2 races (pik 5).
The day when only 9 are carded that 5th race is a bitch, and carded as such in my experience.  The finale on most cards is a crapshoot (take opening day today at SAR), so for me the late 5 MUST have a single or at least two races with just 2 choices.
With the exception of Derby day, BC day, I\'ll rarely make a P5 > $144.

Many folks may not know that DWL & Bobby Knight were good buddies.  At The Preakness - my company sponsored it for several years - I had the great opportunity to chat with him at the Friday night party, always held during an Orioles game overlooking the outfield.
The Coach was not a drinker, unlike yours truly.  He preferred a good ice cream cone.  I shared with him that I\'d met Coach Knight, and asked if it was true he and Kinght were friends.  I\'d been to a function Knight spoke a year or two prior) & that Knight said he\'d taught DWL everything he knew about basketball (both disciples of Pete Newell) & it obviously carried over to training horses!  DWL smiled a big grin & said \"if you ever see Bob again, tell him to get a horse and see how he does with it!\"
You\'ll get a kick out of this short video of them both:
