Re: CORNUCOPIAN

After breaking his maiden, Baffert and Ortiz were both quoted as saying he doesn\'t necessarily need to be on the lead.

Baffert: \"He really doesn\'t want to be on the lead and run like that\"

Ortiz: \"He doesn\'t want to do that. He wants to cruise and then turn it on\"

With that said, how many people were expecting Velazquez to be hell-bent on getting the lead?

Going along with the Beyer variant, I have the race looking like this:

2f: 118
4f: 115
6f: 106
9f: 99

Re: DR RUBEN M

He was 7 wide around the first turn in the Springboard Mile. Nice.

That was a weird race. I\'ve got them going real slow early and real fast by the time they hit 6f. The race then fell apart and they ran the mile in 1:39 and change.

I was not that impressed by the winner going off the splits. He promptly came right back and won the Smarty Jones at Oaklawn. :-)

I would think DR RUBEN M needs to improve around 4 points off his top to have a chance. He also needs to have some gas left in the tank the final 2f.

I think he\'s interesting if he goes off at a big price.

Who do you guys like in the big race? I\'m taking a shot with CRUPI. I think the risk/reward is worth it going off the ML.

Playing SAUDI CROWN to bounce. WHITE ABARRIO doesn\'t seem to be the same. Don\'t know what to do with SKIPPY.

I think I\'ll box the two Pletcher horses in the exacta and bet CRUPI to win.

Enjoy the race and good luck.

Brutal. I have no clue.

Re: Malibu Stakes

I don\'t see any value coming from the top two off the ML. I landed on STRONGHOLD. He has a competitive top, the pattern looks strong and he should be double the price of the two favorites. I hope to get at least 5/1.

Re: Pincay Stakes

Either the ML is way off, or I\'m way off. KATONAH looks like a $4 horse to me. I settled on 7/5 as a fair price.

LAMMAS could be interesting. He\'s doing his best racing as a 7yo. I think he\'s worth around 3/1 coming off the bounce.

Enjoy the racing today, fellas.

Thanks for the data, Jerry.

I\'ve been waiting for KATONAH to run back. He\'s entered in the Pincay Stakes. Seems to be in good form:

Unfortunately, the price isn\'t going to be there. He exits three straight G1\'s, while some in here are recent allowance graduates.

EPIC RIDE: Ran a solid race off the layoff in the Perryville. A pair-up could get the job done. SUNNY BREEZE: Forging. Another forward move would make things interesting. WORLD RECORD: Has a number three back that could win this, but that was a big forward move and he hasn\'t been the same since.

The good news for EPIC RIDE is that the favorite scratched. The bad news, from a betting standpoint, is that his odds will suffer.

EPIC RIDE to win @ 2/1 and up.

Nice job, Silver Charm. I look forward to more of your handicapping in the future.

You picked a doozy of a race to handicap. Any number of these horses can win and I wouldn\'t be surprised. I\'m sure the Indiana-Bred will win just to stick it to me. Sticking it!

I\'m gonna have to go along with my friend from Sabaneta. I like NEAT. His last three races are solid. I\'m projecting a new top.

He\'s been slow to come around as a 6yo and the pattern still looks flat. Doesn\'t look like much, unless that last race is buried.

Good luck at Keeneland.

Three horses were involved in that fast pace in the Parx Dirt Mile:

REPO ROCKS
INJUNCTION
CONCEALED CARRY

CONCEALED CARRY came back at Parx this past Saturday and wired a field at 9/2.

REPO ROCKS will try to do the same this coming Saturday at Aqueduct. I was hoping to see him come back in a sprint, but they\'re keeping him at a mile in the Forty Niner Stakes.

Let\'s see what happens.

Since you brought it up, Tavasco ...

I have the race looking like this going off the winning Beyer:

2f: 113
4f: 112
7f: 99

Whatcha got cookin\'?

Looks can be deceiving, but GOODLOOKINJUSTICE was visually impressive crossing the wire and the winners circle last time out. Wouldn\'t be surprised if he was voted best turned-out today.

The Indiana-Bred steps up against open company in the G3 Perryville. Never been worse than second in nine career starts. He\'s steadily improving this year and the trainer has been hot lately (tops.)

I don\'t know if he can beat DANNO, but I\'ll take my chances against the rest of the field going off the ML prices.
