NHC qualifier who uses CRW. My favorite quote: "I just know what my computer spits out," Zhou says. "I ran my model – it took me, like, a minute, maybe two minutes – and I just plugged the numbers in. I don't know a single horse or a single name, I just know they offered the right value."

I qualified over the weekend. If I only beat one player, I hope it\'s him.

My sincere thanks, too - Slumber put me over the top in a $1,000 Derby Wars contest. I had the Tri several times. Thanks.

19 wins in 39 starts (49%) and 79% in the money. Yowza.

Dortmund is my main key, over/under Mub, Firing Line, Frosted, Upstart. Whole slew of others in 3rd and 4th.

I know numbers are numbers, but Upstart looked completely gassed at the end of the Florida Derby to me. Can\'t imagine the added distance is going to help.

Curious if you were able to calculate his closing time/fractions. If so, I\'d love to know what it was. Thanks.

It did look like he was shot out of a cannon, but Dortmund coming back on firing line after it looked like he was cooked was the most visually impressive race to me.

Ask the Experts / AP protective plate
April 25, 2015, 12:38:03 PM
AMERICAN PHAROAH has been racing and training with a plate covering part of the sole of his left front foot, and trainer Bob Baffert on Saturday said he would keep that plate in place for the Kentucky Derby next Saturday, in which American Pharoah is expected to be the favorite.

"I was going to take it off to run him, but he's had it there so long I don't want to change," Baffert said Saturday from California. "He's traveling so well with it."

I saw somewhere in my twitter timeline that he was given a 4-.

They had ticket scanners 20 years ago? I didn\'t realize that. Anyway, I had a similar experience about 10 years ago, but we actually made it into the game. A group of us scalped tickets for Reds opening day - a huge deal in Cincinnati. I think we paid $75 a ticket, which in hindsite was maybe a bit low considering they were nice seats. We had no issue getting into the stadium, they just tore our tickets. When we went down to the seats, however, there were people in them. We told them that they were sitting in our seats, and we were told that we were probably the 20th group to come down with that same story. An usher confirmed that we had bought fakes, and told us to just find a seat.

Ultimately, the game got rained out, we walked out of a nearby bar with a case of Guinness, and we had dinner at a Benihana at the same table with the late Harold Dow from 60 Minutes. I\'m pretty sure he would have bought us dinner if my wife hadn\'t said, \"Hey - aren\'t you Wesley Snipes?\" Oh, the good old days...
