Ask the Experts / Re: R.I.P Uncle Bill

So sorry to hear that.
Enjoyed our time in Saratoga with Uncle Bill.  Always helpful and made sure we always had something to eat. His knowledge of horses was quite good and he was very insightful checking the feet and condition of horses as they walked to the paddock. Always in search of that undervalued horse at long odds.

First Alan and now Bill - sucks

I still miss the weekly seminars. It was a big part of why I went to Saratoga.

Alan was always gracious to me and my daughter.

It was amusing when a longshot he picked and won and yet somehow he didn\'t cash a ticket.  He also rooted on his horses with the snapping of his fingers.

He has been missed and will continue to be missed.

Looked like she should come down from Hotel room downs.

Andy thought it should stand as you would expect.

How do TGPS members access the seminar. When I select and try to download it says I will be charged.

Thanks for the benefit.

Just signed up. Had an existing account - as Mathcapper said they were very
helpful.

Took less than 5 minutes.

Bob

Glad to see you are feeling better.

I noticed your column was missing a couple of weeks.

I do enjoy your thoughts.

See you this summer

I have avoided mentioning this - because of redboarding. My friends are not gamblers and I need to tell someone who will understand. I am not in the video but Warren and I were part of the group that won.  It was unbelievable.

Ask the Experts / Sunday Seminar Recap
September 04, 2016, 09:01:08 PM
Seminar was held in the backyard for first time with Siro\'s unavailable.

Frank D, Top Cat and Belmont3 were in attendance.

1st race: TGJB liked the winner and the Rudy horse.

3rd race: Against Pletcher horse and wide Johnny V in a 3 turn race.

4th race: Pass

5th race: TGJB had the winner on a recovery line from top early in year that set horse back.

6th race: Pass

7th race: Open race, but noted that winner was first time Jason Servis.

8th race: Pass

9th race: Key race of day - Thought the 3 was very interesting - Ran big over the winter and was in a recovery cycle.

10th race: Do not try to beat the Chad Brown filly on first lasix.

11th race: There were a number of options - but don\'t dismiss former Preciado import from Florida. Dearest had a good pattern.

12th race: Open race - Noted the 9 was first time grass.

It turned out to be a VERY profitable weekend for the crew in the backyard.

Thanks to TGJB and TGAB for sharing their handicapping skill this summer.

Also, big thanks to Uncle Bill for getting up early each day and securing our prime backyard location.

The camaraderie of the backyard makes for fun filled days.

Thanks to Frank D for lunch today and Belmont3 for dessert.

I need to rest tomorrow due to my medical adventures.  I look forward to seeing everyone next year

Ask the Experts / Final Saturday Seminar
September 04, 2016, 03:44:52 AM
There was a good crowd on Saturday including Frank D, Top Cat, Magicnight, Belmont3 and NC Tony.

1st race - TGJB had the winner - 2nd turf and was the horse to beat

2nd race - TGJB was against the Pletcher on the rail and was unsure about the 3\'s last race when the owner of the horse who was standing behind TGJB chimed in and explained how the last race should be thrown out. Surprise - he was right.

5th race - Jockey race. TGJB had the winner in the mix- off a top with plenty of rest.

10th race - Against Frosted. Did not understand why he was in this race, especially with Mubtaajh entered  - thought play was to keep him out of trifecta - Just missed for a big payoff.

11th race - Winner was one TGJB would like to own. Thought Guazapa was likely winner and also liked Arles.

12th race - Gave out the Cold Exacta - 2 and 4 for a good finish to the day.

Congrats to Frank D for a big day with his posted picks of Inspector Lynley and Shamans Ghost.

The Backyard was full including a visit from Charles Simon.

The day was beautiful - hopefully two more as storm has shifted to the East.
