I can\'t download or view anything in the Red Board Room.  Is it me or does it have somthing to do with the site upgrade?

Ask the Experts / Reguest for JB

JB,
I have used your product for a couple of years now with some success.  I consider myself to be a good handicapper, but poor at choosing my bets. I have read your advice on how to bet but am still not maximizing my plays.  I was hoping that you could take a card that you\'ve played recently, maybe your trip to Saratoga, and list what bets you made and the rational behind them.  You could use units instead of dollar amounts if you\'d like. This would be extremely valuable and greatly appreciated.

I use Magna\'s xbress bet and am not real thrilled with it.  I live in NY so I am not allowed to bet on NY racing through them.  I don\'t know if this applys to every online site(NYRA mandated), but it is really a drag.  You also can\'t get video or current odds for any of the Churchill Downs network tracks(Churchill, Hollywood, Arlington, Calder)  which is also a turnoff.  I am looking to switch to a different site.  Anyone have any experience with youbet.com?  I am a weekend player and will probably only bet about $100 a week, unless I\'m winning.  Would I still be entitled to rebates at Pinnacle or any of the other rebate sites?

I think that this is a lousy race to bet on. There are too many horses at short odds that have a shot to but together a reasonable bet.  I agree that Offlee Wild might be the biggest overlay, but I\'m concerndwith the likely bounce.  His only saving grace isthe switch to Dutrow and the long rest since his new top.  I just can\'t get past the fact that he has bounced after every top effort.  I\'ll pass on this one.

If adding 5 points to every previous figure is such a labor intensive chore why bother?  I don\'t see why looking at negative numbers make handicapping a race any more difficult.  I think your product is fine the way it is, and any extra time you have should be spent on what you have been doing(adding to the trainer profiles, etc.)

How does the administration of LEGAL, POSSIBLY performance enhancing drugs imply lack of morality or concern for society.  Have you ever taken nutritional supplements, or been prescribed modern medicine for an ailment?  Does that lessen your own accomplishments?  I agree that there are a lot of illegal drugs used in modern sports, be it horseracing or anything else.  And I agree that it is a problem that society should be concerned with.  But I do not see how Lasix diminishes Smarty\'s accomplishments nor do I see how the use of said drug is going to be the cause of the decline of western civilization, or even horseracing.  I think we should embrace modern science and step out of the dark ages. As far as handicapping goes I think that it is simply another variable to take into account.  And to think that prior to Lasix and the like, that all horses ate only hay, oats and water is naive.

Ask the Experts / Race replays

Does anyone know where you can watch race replays or get photos from lesser known(than the Derby, BC, etc.) stakes races and horses from the 90\'s or earlier.  I am specifically interested in Joyeux Danseur\'s victory in the 1998 Early Times Turf Classic.
I was just starting to get into racing at the time and his performance was the most impressive race I had ever seen, as well as having won me a good chunk of money.  He literally exploded in the stretch.  That race is what got me hooked on racing.

I don\'t think its fair to say that Smarty\'s accomplishments are tainted by the fact that Servis has given him Lasix. Its a new era in racing with a vast majority of the horses recieving performance inhancing drugs.  His dominance, using lasix, against other horses using lasix is no less impressive than the superstars of yesteryear dominating their rivals without the use of such drugs.  It\'s all relative to the competiotion.  It\'s not like Smarty had Lasix and no one else did.  To compare today\'s horses and those of previous generations is like comparing apples to oranges.  Under your assumption, the achievemnets of Lance Armstrong, or the like, are tainted by the progress in performance medicine?

Ask the Experts / Peter Pan

I love Swingforthefences in the Peter Pan.  Nice steady improvement each start with numbers that are very competitive, nice rest, expecting another incremental move forward(1 to two points).  I think he\'ll manage to work out a decent trip behind the first flight of horses.  I think Purge is the only other contender, but I don\'t think he\'s fast enough to clear with all the speed drawn inside of him.  Likely to be wide around  the turn, and is somewhat suspect to run back to his top.  Any thoughts?
