Ask the Experts / Re: Wed 6th and 9th at sar
August 14, 2002, 08:00:05 AM
In the 7th I agree about SIGHTSEEK. MARQUE RENT has been stuck at the level for awhile, this is the fastest horse in the race. While she should breakthru soon, one has to wonder if today is or is not the day, she has moved 7pts off the 2yr top, depending on the odds will use somewhere.

UNBRIDLED\"S PRIDE (7/2) essentially paired the 13-14 in his first 2 at GPark early in the year, moved 2 more points at aqueduct in april. Has been laid up since, but the trainer is hot and is ok off the layoff, should move foward this race or next, the price may be the only issue.

SUMMING STARS (20-1) finally made the 1/2 point move off the 3yr top, this is the only 4yr in the race. Gets a break on the weights, if you can call it that (carrero).
Will jump foward someday, the only daughter of fourstars allstar. ALthough a couple of points slower at 20-1 has a shot to be there.

good luck

Ask the Experts / Suggestion on simo books
June 03, 2002, 08:49:43 AM
Hey guys, just a couple of items on my wish list concerning the new simo books. I really miss the tg stats on 2-5yr old development one year to the next. How about the horses record somewhere at the top ex(21-0-7-5). However, I have found the year to year development a key indicator in the past.
thanks

Just wondering, how many turn downs has that vet been right about?. i just seemed to sense some frustration in the analysis. I really liked this horses pattern coming in here, looked like the only one that had move room for development in that race off his line. However, I did not use WE on top. Next time.

Your off base pal, I checked the RBR on yesterdays race you refered to. The horse displayed a very nice pattern, didn\'t he just go back to his 3yr old top. A foward move was coming, look at the competition. A few were faster, but most sported suspect lines (big tops, etc.) I don\'t know what he paid, but it was not a \"no chance\". You really need a bit more practice using the sheets before you make blanket statements. I been doing this over 5 yrs, always learning. Nothing is ever easy. good luck.

Ask the Experts / Re: What is the Simulcast book
April 18, 2002, 09:25:51 AM
As far as I can tell here in ct, I don\'t have the option top buy the individual sheets by racetrack anymore, the book now has 4 tracks in it with less numbers per horse. However, with all crap races being run these days, I get to focus in on more tracks to look for lines I like. It has been much tougher to find the right plays on certain days and particular tracks, at least in my opinion. This just gives me more options, in a easy to read format.

Ask the Experts / advanatage of the new simo book
April 18, 2002, 05:09:41 AM
I wasn\'t quite sure about that simulcast book until I started using it. The major advantage is that with so few bettable races on these tracks lately (fewer starters, scratches, etc) I can now go thru 20+ races and zero in on a few good longshots. For example, yesterday at the Big A, very few bettable races, and the chaulk looked good in each one, nothing at GP, however, 2 looked real good at keenland. The 5th race winner at 27-1 looked very good (see the redboard room) and the other ran out in the 8th at 19-1?. The value? I sat there all day and took a bath until the 5th, without the book I would never have been at keenland. I like it.

Now I see the answer, 6 weeks off the big # for 500K at 30-1. If that\'s yours, good luck, he\'s not out the question.

Jerry, is this horse part of your stable? If so, what was the thought process/reasoning to run here, I have not seen the #\'s yet but I would be interested in the reasoning from your perspsective? I wouldn\'t be so bold as to ask for your opinion of his chances.
Thanks

Although Repent has a nice line, how can you play him out of the 10 hole and at the weights, in addition, he\'s been bearing in and out and tries sportsmans park, he\'s at a dangerous performance level also. The off race comes today.

Fonz interests me, in his 2nd start last May he pops a 7.5 that\'s fast as a 2yr old. Proceeded to run 5\'s at the end of his 2yr year, thats good development. Essentially got back to his 2yr old top in a buried race last out. This horse is ready for a new level soon, with more room for development.

As an interesting sideline to this race, on the other board a lister mentions the fact that on the sheets one tuff fox is off a big new top and War emblem has just ran back to his 2yr top. This very much contradicts thorograph, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Any opinions?

Ask the Experts / ROTW

The rotw up at 8:00am friday, nice surprise.

Have to excuse High stars last and say he is sitting on a big race with the move back to the top. Isn\'t this an example of an explosive line for a young 3yr old?

I also like puck at 15-1, hopefully he can move foward 1 more time, I liked his work the other day, and I like that he won at 1 1/8 at GP. I\'ll use him 2nd/3rd also.
