Check out the scene at san luis rey downs. Horses running for their lives. LA times reported 25 horses dead. Other than peter Miller, not sure who else trains out of there. Just awful

While this is far from another TG Christmas gift, posting before the race hopefully will solicit some opinions...
The 3 horses im interested in are Champagne Room, Pacific Wind and Shenandoah Queen. Im leaning to the 2 and 7, will surely box the 3....and will add the 1 in underneath....the 3 should bounce and hard for me to use baffert horse going 2 turns...Good luck!!!

I never said the winner wasnt the fastest, but it did take a perfect rail trip to get up..Lull a bit slow but the 10 a tier below? Both lull and the 10 ran the exact same numbers last 3 races I believe. I used the 10 mainly because of early speed. I did use the 2 a little heavier. All in all a profitable race, but it was far from stealing. The 12 was actually fast also. Maybe I am not as sharp as everyone else, but it was a race where I wasnt expecting to cash other than win bet on 8..I do however agree, LOVE is worth seeing.

Hmm. Explain? I played the race, hit it, but found it very competitive. Yes the winner was fastest, but between the 2 7 10 and others it wasnt as easy as you make it sound. In fact, the analysis didnt come close. I ended up boxing the 2 8 10, but wasted a lot of money on the 2...and if you played the race you had to use the 7 also. To me, if you had 10 tg players, my guess is other than the winner, you would have a lot of different looking tickets.

Yes, IWC has run faster, and I do like him, especially as the 4th choice. My point was just that as P dub said, the faster horses in the race are no certainties to run well, and in fact, have major knocks....Practical Joke aside...his sheet is nice

I dont get how you can put mccracken the 9th fastest horse? Based purely on tops? Is gormley faster because he ran a 1 in the mud months ago? Seems to me, most horses that have run faster have also ran a lot slower than mccracken ...IWC much faster last time, much slower in FOY....its all about the effort coming saturday...he looks one of the most likely to run well. Factoring in ground loss, etc, will it be enough is the question?

well, what im saying is, looking back at archives, running a 1, is usually good enough for tris/supers...however, with wide trips a 1 sometimes doesnt get in...of those faster horses, how many have run bad races also? Irish war cry comes to mind Or like AD, look to react..IRAP comes to mind...again, havent seen all the sheets, but did notice practical joke looks solid

Im not sure id call mccracken slow..I mean, yes others have run faster, but I dont recall many if any, putting in back to back efforts....havent seen all the sheets, but off his last efforts, moving forward a point,(trip a factor) hes right there....at 10-1 or higher hes a use...A 1 in most derbys gets you into the tri/super...again, trip aside.
