I have read a few things on this board about better testing in California, and as somebody who really knows very little about the different kinds of tests they run, I just gloss over those posts.
But, anybody notice that one of my least favorite trainers on the planet, cheating move up specialist Jacobsen, is STRUGGLING MIGHTILY on the west coast?
I know it is a small sample size, but his horses aren\'t just not winning, they are running DISGUSTING. Coincidence? Hmm.....

It will be interesting to see how his I\'m Not Bullish runs in the 8th today. Pace set up looks perfect. Bejarano riding. Just claimed by him. Really no excuses (except maybe one as you imply) if the horse doesn\'t fire today.
I think one of the issues right now is the East to West ship. JB has mentioned this in his Santa Anita BC comments. I suspect the acclimation process is worse when shipping the horses out in December or January. I know I bet against one of his in the stakes last Saturday for this reason (last raced at AQU on 1/9).
Another DISGUSTING performance by a Jacobson runner.
Claimed for 50. Dropped into a weak 30 claimer. Good ride. Empty and off the board, a non-threatening 5th.
Tough to single out one guy in a game rift with guys just like him, but for those that watch the NY circuit regularly, Jacobson is WAY UP THE LIST of suspects that are bending/destroying the rules.

I have to agree with Ring. Horses claimed at Santa Anita -- with no shipping -- are running terrible. Not even as well as they ran before the claim -- certainly not the move ups that we see elsewhere.
Acclimation, I assume JB is is referring to the process of physiological adjustment. However based on what I\'ve read from these \"move up\" trainers, the constant theme seems to be transforming the horses into happy horses. i.e., a psychological acclimation?
So what puzzles me is how changing barns (zip codes) in N.Y. is so psychologically different than doing the same in SoCal. While it is clear that the denizens of the \"City of Angels\" are inherently dissimilar to those in or near the \"Big Apple\", change is change, trauma is trauma!
Apparently changing neighborhoods in Gotham is fundamentally different than switching from beach bum to valley guy in the concrete desert. I grew up in L.A. and my subsequent visits to N.Y. cause me to suspect the ethnicity and linguistics of the different NYC neighborhoods could be at the heart of this enigma.
Alternatively, all the California Horses are already happy and a new dose causes no change or DJ has a new strategy yet to be divulged. But in any case newsworthy and curious.
On the conspiracy front, I believe last years NTRA NHC was earmarked by bombs @ OP in statebred day 1 races (FTS) picked by LA based players including the eventual winner. A simple and not illegal coup?
Motion H Graham 9/0-1-1
Also, Jacobson at Golden Gate, 5/1-1-1.. But maybe the CA testing is only in Southern California.
That testing obviously wreaking havoc in SoCal on a lot of outfits..
Powell Leonard 5/0-1-2
Pederson Dean 5/0-0-0
Harty Eoin G 7/0-0-0
Lewis Craig A 7/0-0-1
Vienna Darrell 8/0-0-1
Capestro Paula S 9/0-1-0
West Ted H 9/0-2-1
Motion H Graham 9/0-1-1
Jones Martin F 9/0-1-1
McCarthy Sean 9/0-1-2
Pender Michael 11/0-1-1
Kitchingman Adam 13/0-1-1
Jacobson David 13/0-1-1
Drysdale Neil D 14/0-3-2
Slow horses/competition far more likely to cause those trainer goose eggs in Cali than testing.Never been a Jacobson fan, tough read on droppers, no signature moves really. Claims,taps/injects and turns over many in a hurry. Had some real move ups along the way but is really not a high percentage trainer, no positives in NY since he resurfaced.
Trainers tough reads sometimes,e.g.hay/oats/water Graham Motion also struggling at Gulfstream meet along with Kiaran Mc Laughlin, tough testing? doubtful.Nick Zito can\'t win anywhere, testing or slow horses?
On the other hand, Rudy winning with anything with four legs at the quality challenged Aqueduct Inner meet.Oh, barn raided more than once and his test, along w/others subjected to an extra look by testers.....nuthin but some picogram overages of the baseline for permitted stuff.
As stated before and noted by JB, testers are up against it vs those with the magic bullet whoever they may be.
miff.. Hear, hear.. Very well put across the board.

For a guy that hosts a regular radio show on horse racing, you are out of touch if u are defending Jacobson by putting him in a class with Motion. Please. Disgusting statement.
Jacobson has had the same type miraculous runs that Rudi-Rod has had with claiming and moving up horses. Just not at the moment.
Guys like Jacobsen ruin the game. Period.
