...was Preciado getting Amelia\'s Wild Ride to run a new top (negative number) at Keeneland, in a stake. If he can get Parx figures at the BC he\'s got maybe 5-6 contenders for the Sprint alone.
So you are saying a new top for an 8 for 29 horse is a little unusual???
Excellent horseman that has more talented horses than other trainers......
Unrelated of course, when you said in the ROTW few weeks ago that this isn\'t funny, it really isn\'t anymore. It is 2015, not 1915. Uniform rules on medication with zero tolerance along with zero medication within at least a week of a race would be a start. Serious OOC testing with legit labs and serious barn security would be next step.
NHL today announces there is a drug problem with cocaine among the players. The powers that be want to make it a suspendable drug in an attempt to cure the problem.
When will racing want to cure its medication problems??? ..... probably never ..... I normally would say about the industry\'s stance on medication that \"It\'s a joke,\" but it isn\'t.
Is there any reason to believe that the other KEE days will have the same testing as the BC testing days? I\'m asking because I don\'t know. I was always under the assumption that there are much stricter testing protocols for the BC days (which is ridiculous in itself, why not every day?). While I guess what you may be saying is KY in general is stricter than Parx on an average day, but is it really safe to assume that just because someone got by an average KY day that they can also get by on a BC testing day? That\'s what your post seemed to be implying.
And a new track record.
Thanks to all the \"move up\" talk on this board about that trainer, I scored a nice win bet on that race at nearly 15-1. Perhaps off-the-turf helped also?
I sure hope the jocks that tumbled in the stretch are OK, I haven\'t seen any news.
Bridgmohan complaining of ankle pain, however left the first aid station on his own. Carmouche taken to university of Kentucky med center for xrays and evaluation. Complaining of chest pain.

Do we really want to hold up professional sports as the model for how racing should handle drug testing? The NFL allegedly tests, and they suspend 1 or 2 obscure players a year, usually for non-performance-enhancing drugs. Do you really believe no one in the NFL is on steroids? It\'s just as bad as racing---probably worse---except individual players\' abuses don\'t affect our individual bets.
Testing protocols for everyday racing at KY tracks the same as BC except that BC entrants are subjected to OOC testing/observation 3 days out.Understand that KY racing comm, under Dr. Mary Scollay, regularly do some \"extra\" things in an effort to protect integrity,a difficult endeavor to say the least.
Similarly,in NY,certain trainers have been audited/raided(unannounced beforehand)with no illegal findings.Could mean they use undetectable synthetic PEDS for which no test exist or they are stacking/tapping/injecting to win at high strike rates.Seems that the claiming super trainers are the biggest problems with their magic move ups.
Re the biggest news horse, his win fig elsewhere is slower,in the TG 1/2 range, did see some magic in outrunning that field from the gate and wiring.
KY Testing prior years, BC has Dr.Scollay in charge this year with extra $$ for testing.
1.All contenders will be subjected to out of competition testing. This involves a cooperative effort that (in addition to Kentucky) included assistance from California (CHRB), New York, (NYGC), Florida (Stronach Group), and Illinois (Illinois Racing Board) in collecting samples from horses at 10-14 days prior to each race. Blood samples were subjected to testing for blood doping agents as well as full instrumental screening.
As is usual, all horses in Graded Stakes will be subjected to TCO2 testing.
Contenders will undergo veterinary scrutiny beginning today—with horses observed on the racetrack daily, and examined in their stalls at least once prior to race day.
2.Post race testing will be performed on a minimum of 4 horses in each Graded Stake; the first three finishers, and one or more horses selected by the Stewards. For non-graded races, a minimum of two horses is sampled.
3.All post-race samples are subjected to instrumental analysis for approximately 1,500 foreign substances and their metabolites-inclusive of regulated therapeutic substances and banned substances, a testing menu that exceeds the TOBA's requirements
Professional sports have uniformity. That is one of the goals racing should seek to improve their sport.
Separate topic. What happened to the twin trifecta? I understand that fads come and go but it sure seems that was a fascinating wager but it has disappeared I\'m guessing now that the pick 5 basically started by Magna and the dime pick 6 have emerged as the latest fads along with the Super High 5 that doesn\'t seem to really receive tremendous support at the windows.

The Gulfstream West meet opened yesterday and they\'ve introduced a Rolling Super High 5 that carries over to the next race if it\'s not hit. Interesting concept and it\'s nice to see Magna trying new things.
So, Preciado was nice enough to spare us the headache of what his runners would do with BC testing, he didn\'t enter any.
Meanwhile, super claim Trouble Kid won another 150k race over the weekend at Parx. Barn ran 1-2 in that one.

Favorite Tale is in the Sprint, no?

Yes, he is pre-entered.
Trained by the other Preciado. They presumably are related, but clearly do not share. That one can be handicapped like a horse, not a trainer.
Just heard Daniel Murphy\'s personal trainer is Guadalupe Jeraldo Preciado. Don\'t know what this means but I met him at Parx. Let\'s Go Mets.
