Title: Belmont Saturday
Post by: richiebee on October 03, 2015, 07:09:26 AM
NYRA website reporting main muddy, turf soft. Races 2 and 11: off turf. Race 6
moved to Widener, no rail:

Short fields, scratches to come. Looks like yesterdays driving rains have been
replaced by a wind strong enough to affect the proceedings.

Comments: Flower Bowl Gr 1: Euro CURVY has been competitive in her last four
Group stake tries, winning two of them. Has soft turf experience and adds
Lasix.

Frizette Gr 1: Looking at the two outside fillies. Desert Tune is slower than
these but broke her maiden at a mile for Albertrani, who is off to a good start
at Belmont. Races Lasix free. Where\'s the D a 2YO Cal shipper from D. O\'Neill,
got a competitive number in her Del Mar maiden win and can not be ignored at
the 10/1 morning line given recent events.

Champagne Gr 1: Throwing out the numbers here and going to a bloodline I have
been following for 35 years: Sail Ahoy descends from the brilliant and
diminutive sprinter Gold Beauty who produced Grade/Group 1 quality runners
Dayjur and Maplejinsky; Maplejinsky, the third dam of Sail Ahoy, herself
produced champion Sky Beauty.

Like Albertrani\'s filly in the Frizette, Sail Ahoy (a) is slower than these,
(b) has already won at a mile, (c) races without Lasix and (d) should be a
decent price.

Hill Prince Gr 3: Looks like an open race.

Note: According to DRF, Jimmy Jerkens is 0/10 when administering Lasix for the
first time.
