Title: Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
Post by: TempletonPeck on September 29, 2015, 07:04:44 PM
Hi all, I will be leaving the friendly confines of the Wynn Race & Sports this weekend to be at Longchamp for the Arc, lucky me! Any advice for any sort of form/figures/anything I can get for the races there?

TIA.

TP,

If you are a sheet theorist, Treve\'s last race came up so fast, you would gamble she has to bounce in The Arc.

Check out overseas Timeform site, usually a nugget there on Euro racing

Mike - Yeah, as you say, Treve\'s prep was quite fast. The TimeForm gang was impressed. I\'m guessing she could go back two points and still win.

Gosden is supplementing (100K Euro) Derby-winner Golden Horn to the race, who needs firmer turf and it looks like he will get it. Was reading that Longchamp is currently \"soft-to-good\" but the forecast is dry and they are guessing it will be \"good\" by Sunday.

TP - I was lucky enough to be in France about a year ago. Here\'s what I found. You won\'t find anything racing related on the newsstands except Paris-Turf. If you can read French you may get some useful information there, but nothing along the lines of figures or pps that we have here. A lot of the runners will be from England and Ireland so you can read about the races at the Racing Post site as well as Mike\'s suggestion on the overseas TF site. I\'ve never used the stuff, but I saw on Twitter that TimeForm will have race cards available online for both Saturday and Sunday. So, that\'s probably your best bet for getting a full set of figures.

And I would certainly recommend going both Saturday and Sunday. Lots of full fields and great stakes both days. Enjoy!

Thanks very much Mike. Feels like bet against is right, she\'s so popular she almost has to be a bad bet.

www.attheraces.com is a good site for UK/European racing. It\'s all free & easy to use. Enjoy the Arc, got to be an amazing experience!  I\'m just a little jealous! I\'m sure the weather\'s better too. All these great turf races washed away here in the US this weekend. www.racinguk.com is also great but you have to register and need an address outside of the US for some reason; they have more replays than at the races if youre into video. Good luck!
