Some observations just to put out there about Saturday.
Personal Ensign;
Sheer Drama was indeed the best bet of the day, TGAB said in the seminar(I was not there) she laid over this group on TG figures/patterns. Maria was 1/9 to bounce, Untapable was a huge question mark. I had a large pick 3 play with Drama and made a pretty good exacta with Untapable. I reached into my pocket and picked up the phone like a junkie to make an extreme win bet. I didn\'t, I don\'t as a rule ever go under 4/1 in the win slot and that horse needs to be exceptional for me to pull that trigger. Retrospect!
Ballerina:
If you told me pre race that a 2 could win, I\'da betcha! Merry Meadow and Room For Me were my big pick 3 plays.
Kings Bishop:
God Bless the connections who ran a 5 point new top to take the heat.
Forego:
Private Zone was a gimme, All that water! I was sure I had something.
This was far and away my biggest bet of the meet:
Private Zone ONLY on top/ Wildcat Red & Falling Sky at outrageous odds underneath in exactas, tri\'s and supers were 7/4,12/All 7/All/4,12, a large ticket of
7/4,5,6,10,12/4,5,6,10,12. Went back and pressed the Wildcat Red ex a bit more and in tri\'s as well. I was certain we would have a conveyer belt around the turn of 1,2,3, speed, speed, speed. I was with Alan upstairs before the race who sang the praises of the 9 Viva Majorca, he ruined me and in TGAB fashion he didn\'t pull the trigger at 32/1 with the 2 figure horses in the tri, only betting exactas!
Sword Dancer:
How about Twilight Eclipse getting back to his top as a 6yr old and running 3rd!
How about AWFUL performances by both Imagining and Messi?
Frank D.
Looking at AP\'s sheet this horse needs a rest. There is a lot of racing compressed into the last 6 months. I know the Fans and the Blogs require he climb Mt Everest to justify his greatness but he has done enough.
The question now becomes what does Keen Ice do next. This is a serious race horse who could be competitive in The Classic off that last Fig. Also remember he wasn\'t going to get into the Derby until at the last minute someone dropped out and he got it. This was a key stepping stone for him and then the Belmont.
The guys in the other Shop were saying Private Zone had lost a step. This is a bad boy. Basically been beaten only by Honor Code and a Belmont winner at a mile. Dusted all the rest.
Looking at the #\'s Pletchers horses got it makes me wonder \"Where was Allday?\"
What do you do with Run Happy in his next race?
I feel like you are playing soft toss with me Silver or baiting me. I wasn\'t going to bring it up on my own but you only see the horses in the stakes races.
Curious how his horses did fig wise earlier in the day.
Race 2 winner by 2 1/2 lengths. MSW. Dirt 2yo\'s. 4w on turn, carried 5w into stretch at equal weights. 2-1.
Race 3 winner by 2 1/4 lengths. Allowance. Turf 3yo\'s and up. Can\'t help but post the entire chart comment below about this one just for the entertainment value. ESPIED? This is beyond descriptive. But a ground saving trip at 120 lbs with others from 115-124 in the race. 2-1.
No mention on the board of TGJB\'s correct prediction on his best negative opinion of the seminar, Dame Dorothy. Well done.
Red Rifle and Got Lucky didn\'t run bad compared to their sheets and Stopcharging was at a number she has been at more than a few times now. But just \"observing\" the horses as they raced, Pletcher\'s stakes horses didn\'t show the same burst as the 2 earlier in the card and they obviously didn\'t win the stakes.

TANGO TIME (IRE) was guided into the pocket after the start, sat within range ofthe front runners, being patiently handled,
was forced to remain on hold, stuck behind the pacesetter, that is SUSIE\'S A COWGIRL, from the five-sixteenths pole to end of the
second bend, found enough wiggle space and got eased into the two path at the head of the stretch, idled along behind a pair of foes,
lacking enough room to launch a rally of her own, espied a freshlty-developed seam open up in the vicinity of the furlong marker,
had the rider commit to go through, boldly went on to split rivals to grab away the advantage for good a couple ofjumps shy of the
sixteenth marker, kicked away, crossing the wire put to a brisk hand ride.
I\'m digging the poetic novellas from the new NY chart caller....
In regards to Messi in the turf race, nothing like being parked 3W for the entirety of the 3 turn race. Bad ride IMO.
Silver,
Keene Ice is a serious horse?yikes. Thought he tripped out big vs AP/Frosted and caught Texas Red and Upstart with clunkers.Seems much more a stayer than anything near fast as confirmed by his internal splits in the Travers and prior 11 races.
Looking at his pp\'s/figs going in, thought he was impossible even though he was showing some sneaky improvement from the Belmont to Haskell. In the new era, shopping for prices a good idea as KI reportedly was offered 70-1 on one exchange.
Sure you can get a monster future price on him in the BC Classic if you feel he is a legit TG neg -3, think that fig is unburied.
Good Luck
Mike
I love you guys.
Fairmount start with you. For disclosure I had one of those 2 Pletcher winners. The maiden! As far as that one and the other one the Condition Books on these big days are out for months and for a guy who has about 300 horse I\'m sure handing picking a couple of live ones isn\'t impossible. Red Rifle ran well again and so did the Lucky mare. His 3YO\'s didn\'t do so well this meet. Carpe Diem and Materiality were retired. Stanford is heading there and Competitive Edge is trying to beat him to the door.
Miff, Will Take Charge got real good this same time a few years ago. Keen Ice was more into the race and finished with a flurry. All good signs to me. A late developer who is rising to near the Top of his Class while the Gulfstream wonder horses are fading. And the Santa Anita Derby horses could be named Mo, Larry and Curly for all my memory serves me....
I\'m curious why there is all this attention here on me (kidding) and there isn\'t more attention on the Linda Rice horse scratched from the Ballerina reportedly for testing positive?? No doubt nobody wants to see another Left Bank situation.....
Silver,
Not nit picking your opinion, just surprised you felt KI finished with a flurry,I\'m a time guy and could not see that from the clock, feel that AP/Frosted came back to KI late stretch.
Can he be a legit threat to win the BC Classic given the potential field?.He may face AP, Frosted,Texas Red,Honor Code, Tonalist,Liams Map,Beholder and whoever else.
Anyone see a futures pool for the BC Classic?

KI a consensus 12-1 in Uuurp for BCC. Billy Hill, feeling frisky, has him at 14.

Espied?
Espied is well known in handicapping circles, with respective degrees of probability is... In context, as in:
a. Calvin Borel, apparently trapped, espied an opening to escape the rail and run unencumbered. Borel, declined the espied invitation, stayed upon the rail and won the Derby in the stretch drive.
b. (Name the Jockey), saving ground upon the tight turned Turf Course, espied an opportunity to ease his horse out and let him run on. The hole quickly closed and the horse though best finished 6th beaten 3 lengths.
