Start with Red Vine the ROTW Selection. He ran his trip as the ROTW projected. Got to the rail, saved ground on both turns, sat far enough behind the wicked speed but close enough to the eventual winner, tried to go with that one and could not, and it probably cost them second. Everything went as according to plan and it didn\'t work out. Yes this happens, but once again its how you use the numbers.
The Owner of Bayern said with another bad effort he was going to retire him. From every account he is a good guy and so lets let him decide and as he said the horse owes them nothing.
Beholder ran a Negative 2 at 2. In a sprint! There questions then if she could get the Breeders Cup Juvy Filly distance of a Mile and 16th. And then yesterday the questions were there again. This was an ok field she beat but nowhere near as fast the Whitney Field. Both of those races are in the ROTW so look it up. Lets see what kind of number she got yesterday. Its going to be fast. Timing and recovery are going to be critical for her between now and October 31st.
Richard Mandella. This guy is unbelievable. He has won with everything, every age, every classification, every surface. Maybe he isn\'t interested in running a Pletcher type operation but I\'ve always been surprised he isnt consistently filled up with more horses. Because he totally knows what the F#&k he is doing, I don\'t care if its a Sprinter (Phone Trick), a distance grass horse (Kotashan, The Tin Man), a 2YO (Beholder), an import (Gentleman, Siphon) and the list goes on and on. I doubted him and his judgment yesterday. That\'s the last time....
